I haven't seen anything regarding players such as Tres, Stevie, or Drew about their draft intentions yet this year. I can't remember when Stevie and Drew decided to declare last year, but I know there have been other players such as Ayton that have declared already. Anyone know anything that we don't yet?

About six weeks ago I saw a quote from Tres stating that is definitely his plan to be here next year

If any do declare it may mean a one-way ticket to Europe or Asia....possibly D-league.
There is way too much talent out there, even amongst just the 64 tournament teams, for a Beaver to find an NBA roster spot.

If you have been watching Loyola play in the NCAA tournament, the meaning and value of team play especially on offense has become crystal clear.
OSU has every bit as much talent as Loyola (probably more) but they have no clue as to what real team play is. The passing, spacing and movement is so far beyond what OSU does that Loyola might as well be from another planet.
Coach Tinkle is a quality person but he is sadly lacking when it comes to teaching and motivating a team.

These guys play much harder than CRob's players did. They lack technique, fundamentals and a scheme or system to give them an edge against the competition. They play their asses off for 30 minutes, then the other team shuts them down with an adjustment or a rally monkey and the beavs have no answer and no system to fall back on.

I wish him the best, thinking tho that he really could have improved his level of play with one more year in college. Good luck Drew!

i actually wouldn't have expected him to be much different or drastically improved had he stayed another year. He is what he is at this point IMO.

If someone wanted to pay me $75K a year to play basketball in Italy, I'd probably take them up on that for a few years too. I'm just guessing that he's not going to be an NBA draft pick even if he stays at OSU next season, so if basketball is really what he wants to do, why not get paid to see the world while focusing on basketball all the time and not having to worry about studying, taking tests on airplanes, etc? I would guess that European league pro teams have as good or better facilities than we do to train in. He's had over a year to think about this decision since he returned last year. I don't think he's making a knee jerk reaction. Sucks for us next year unless these new guys coming in are ready to go day one, but I understand and respect Drew's decision.

The draft is now pretty unkind to seniors anyways. Roberto Nelson is having a nice little career playing in Italy 2nd division, Joe Burton played a few years in Denmark I think? Collier has been playing in France and Puerto Rico. Rather do that than play for Ft. Wayne or Sioux Falls in the G-League. Of course I also just read about ex-Ole Miss star Marshall Henderson who was playing professionally in Iraq. And I think he mentioned that the team deserted him there - and they ran out of money. Marshall probably needs a new agent. Drew should preemptively cross Iraq off the list.
