I’d suspect he never stopped “caring for the kids”, but he certainly quit coaching.

So:
Nothing he was doing was working.
He wasn't giving what he wanted to the players.
He wasn't happy.
He "stepped away" so someone who could do something that worked and give the players what they needed could come in.
Sorry, but "stepped away", "walked away", and "resigned" are just synonyms for "quit".
Just because he quit with good intentions doesn't change the fact that he quit. I applaud him for acknowledging his failure.

I applaud him for acknowledging his failure. Quitting was the right thing to do. But he did quit. He literally, technically and actually quit his job. He resigned and waived his rights to the remainder of his contract. Just because the quitting was "noble" doesn't make it not a quitting. And unless you want to push a "he was forced out" narrative, then there is no other way to say it. He quit.

I’d love to hear Barry Alvarez’s unedited opinion of Andersen.

I'd love to forget Andersen's coaching tenure ever existed.

I was going to read it, then i saw who wrote it....never mind Don't worry if you missed it, there will be others. One thing we know about JC is that there will be 8-10 more super fascinating Andersen follow ups in the next couple years, ready to unleash during those slow news days. He probably has Chip Kelly follow up articles #45 and #46 in the hopper as we speak.

They really can't even count Mike Price. He never signed the contract, so therefore, he was never officially hired.
Always sign the contract before you go to the strip club. That has always been my motto in life.
