why do our defenders have no lateral vision when it comes to giving up the alley oop? and how bad does the officiating have to get before i blow a brain vein? ".....how bad does the officiating have to get before i blow a brain vein?" EXACTLY why I quit watching Beaver/NCAA hoops. c'mon it'll be fun to have aneurysms

Broken record. Seen this movie over and over and over again. You should quit watching then.

So... not a stat anyone keeps... and I do not follow any other college hoops team... but, between WT and CR coachedteams do you guys think there has been another college hoops team in the last 9-10 years that goes on this many 3,4-6+ min FG and/or scoring droughts??? Tonight's examples from just the late 2nd half when the game is decided... 13:12 Dunk Tinkle................... 45-47 10:43 FT E.Thompson............ 46-48 7:22 lay in Hollins.................. 48-54 7:22 FT Hollins...................... 49-54 6:04 lay in Eubanks................ 51-55 3:43 FTs Eubanks.................. 53-61 1:35 Jumper Tinkle................. 55-64 1:16 Dunk Eubanks................ 57-66 0:39 FTs Tinkle...................... 59- 68 Final.......................................... 59-72 5 hoops in the last 13:12... 5:50 drought... 5:29 drought without hoops... It is an EVERY game occurrence... and like tonight multiple times sometimes in both halves! Is it just us? ?

It's just poor shooting, man. Need some jeff stouts.

Jeff Stout?? There's a blast from the past. I remember him leaving the team due to diminished playing time. Jeff didn't play "D," and if you didn't play "D," you didn't play for Ralph.

It is an EVERY game occurrence... and like tonight multiple times sometimes in both halves! Is it just us? ? The scoring droughts are truly TRULY infuriating! I think a bulk of it, at least for this year, is having 1 of your 2 main scorers and creators be an extreme streak shooter. Stevie has gotten better as the year has gone on (Started the year in a deep multi game funk), but that doesn't mean he doesn't still get in long cold streaks. And unlike Tinkle, for the most part, a jump shot is all Stevie really has, he doesn't create much off the dribble, so he doesn't have something else to go to when his shot is off... That of course leaves us playing 5 on 4 because Stevie is either passing up every shot or clanking them, and BAM before you know it it's been SEVEN GD MINUTES since we have had a bucket.... It could also be that some of the droughts line up with when the second unit is in, but anecdotally it doesn't feel like that. It feels like we just have many long strings of Mike Parker winding up for a "KARUUUSH" based on the wide open look a Beaver has just gotten, just to have to tone it back down and in his most melancholy voice, "And the Beavers miss another wide open three..."

I thought I would remember something like that. What year did he leave and did he play for another school? Media guide indicates he played all four years (78-81). He scored four points in his last game in 1981; Kansas State.

He scored four points in his last game in 1981; Kansas State. thanks for looking that up Bill82. Almost 40 years ago? What? As for Ralph not playing you if your defense was weak, i am sure that was true. I got talking to Mark Radford years ago when our kids were playing in the sandpit at OMSI. He told me there were so many ways to get in Ralph's doghouse you almost didn't care. He said Ralph would let you play once you lost your fear of him yelling at you. Somebody else associated with the athletic department told me Ralph left Iowa over a pay spat and then once he got to Corvallis decided he didn't like it there either and coached like he didn't care if he got fired from OSU. Somehow from that his teams developed a really tough veneer and really did play fearlessly. Coaches these days have to kiss everybody's ass.
