Unfortunately my son tells me that plenty of kids are noticing this too. Both other college wrestlers and potential recruits.

Both other college wrestlers and potential recruits. Sad! Hope something is done about it soon, while recruits still remember us as a factor in the Pac. Need to get back to Dominance in the conference! I know it will be Difficult with Zeke at ASU, but it needs to happen.

We have had a hard time getting a consistent and healthy line up. Bresser and Dhesi wrestling digned. I think McLeod too. Don't know, but have to think Doyle is the best 174 in the room. Have only seen bits of him this season due to injury. Two or three guys starting a 165, 2 at 149 tells me we don't know who our best guy is.
Sometimes I think, give it a year, but am not sure. We lose Hathaway, Dhesi (+ two other heavy's). Can the others get that much better to turn it around? Who is in RS that can help right way? A lot of questions out there. I think the program misses Troy Steiner & Kevin Roberts. And no that is not a bash on the young assistants we have now or an invitation to open up the KR discussions.
Credit to Wyoming and coach Branch. They had a decent representation of fans in Gill for this dual. We used to beat them regularly, they own us the last 2 times. He has steadily improved his program. We are 0-3 in Big 12 duals. Last night being the third.

But if OSU won't commit to being a national caliber program in wrestling they should drop the program and shift the funding to create a men's Track and Field program. I know they have endowed scholarships that might disappear but it dishonors the legacy of OSU wrestling to have it limp along as a conference also-ran.

Coleman is redshirting as well and would have given us a little experience & depth at 74 - Myles Terry is way in over his head at the moment, that's an awful lot to ask of him. Didn't even wrestle as a senior in HS last year. Not sure what to think about 133. BTW - Coleman and Reyes both won the Boxer Open yesterday. Think I only saw 3 or 4 OSU kids there. Didn't see little Willits. One more open next Sunday at Clackamas.. hope to catch a few Beavs.

While injuries stink, they are an excuse! I see our experienced guys not wrestling as well. I will give Dhesi and Bresser somewhat of a pass, however Dhesi looked gassed yesterday and that is not an injury problems. I think Griego is in danger of not making it to nationals. If you had told me 2 years ago that he would be in this position, I would have thought you were crazy! Seems like Regression to me. I also see others that should have been competing at a higher level by now, but aren't.

Not getting rid of wrestling. If poor performance dictated that, basketball would be gone as well. Just need a new captain running the ship. It happens. If nothing else we need a much tougher wrestling room. The states of Oregon, Washington and Idaho should all be sending their best to OSU, and it ain't happening.
Need to hit the reset button.

Oregon, Washington, Idaho - and I'd add California to the list! The NCAA wrestler of the week last week (also prominently featured on FloWrestling) is an Oregonian.. Phoenix HS and a couple years at Clackamas. Happy for him, but sure wish he was in orange and black! www.ncaa.com/news/wrestling/article/2018-01-10/college-wrestling-rutgers-eleazar-deluca-named-ncaa-wrestler-week

Hate to say it but Zalesky might be on the way out. But I also had a gut feeling that as soon as ASU hired their coach we would lose our hold in the Pac12.

Poor Fundamentals, not in shape, very little fight! Needs to be fixed in a hurry! For wrestlers, being gassed in Rd 3 is a mortal sin. And as a fan, it is very disconcerting. It takes no skill or talent to be in shape, it takes determination, discipline and effort.
