WSU is playing much better than Friday night, to say the least.
The game is much tighter than I expected so far in the first half. Sure hope those half-time adjustments will turn things around.
Score at the half: OSU 22 WSU 24.
COME ON BEAVS, LET'S GET THIS ONE!!!!

The lady Beavs won by 9.
I still wonder what happened to the team today. I feel it is a collection of a handful of factors. One being this is the third game in seven days. Another being even though they won by 23 against ASU, they gave it all they had physically. Were they a little too aware of the fact this was Jamie's (sp) last game in her home area and it affected their game? The refereeing was suspect, but that is to be expected.
On a different note, I'm wondering what has happened to Gabby's offense. The last three games have not been what we are used to seeing from her offensively. Her defense, however, is a good example of one does not have to score a lot of points to help their team win. I hope she does not get discouraged as I feel her offensive game will return.
Semi-related: Notre Dame came back to win the game with Louisville. I was certainly cheering for the Birds.

I missed the game. Did Wazzu play great D in the 3rd to freeze them out, and what changes did Coach R make in the 4th that allowed them to score so many points?

Beavs didn't score at all for over 8 mins in the 3rd quarter, missing 12 consecutive shots during that stretch. They finally kicked it into gear a little into the 4th quarter then pulled away late. Beavs scored 28 points in the first 3 quarters and 26 points in the 4th quarter. Cougs defense wasn't particularly good, and the Beavs did have 17 turnovers in the game. 2 bench points didn't help us either.

In my opinion, that was the worst game of the season for the Beavers. The combination of poor shooting and high turnovers just about cost us dearly. It was very tough to watch. It wasn't that WSU was playing well, it was that we were beating ourselves. I hope it was the fact that we were playing in the morning, after a big win, less than 48 hours later, and not taking WSU seriously after they were blown out by the Ducks. If it was just fatigue, it doesn't bode well for the Pac-12 tournament when they will need to play (hopefully) three back-to-back games.
If I were Rueck, I would have put some fresh legs into the game early, namely Kalmer and Brown, to see if either of them could spark us. They doubt that they would have done any worse than the starters.
We can't afford to have this kind of game with most of the other teams on the schedule. We have a great opportunity being in control of our own destiny.

Should be a good wakeup call for the team. I think they definitely suffered from lack of focus. Plus, I don't care what anyone says, they thought they could show up and just win the game. They had to make a big comeback to win the game. Fatigue may have had something to do with it considering the starters have played a lot of minutes the last three games before this one today. I think Rueck knows he will have to use his bench more to give the starters more of a break in the conference tournament. Also later in the conference. The grind of the season catches up at the end. Also considering they might play three games in successive days spreading the minutes out will be big. During the NCAA tournament the games are more intense and draining both mentally and physically. So, I expect, Rueck will use his bench for short stints to lessen the minutes a little. A few minutes here and there will make quite a difference at the end of games when your major players are needed.

It's got to be hard to get up to play in a 12,000 seat gym with 400 people in it. That's a unique homecourt advantage WSU is working with.
