Unathletic third- or fourth option scores 23, with six assists, four rebounds and only 1 TO. Sons of assistant coach who shouldn't even be playing combined for 38 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists. Still looking down the barrel at 0-18 in Pac-12 play after a moral loss. Carfeful now. Push much harder and the “I know everybody personally and you’re a DB” comments will come out. There is no reasoning with the unreasonable.

What a great day of hoops in Gill. Rare double header...double wins. Go Beavs!

Good to see you're still contributing your 20/20 hindsight posts. Fence sitting is always the best way to go...
=======================================
It's not hindsight when one says BEFORE the season even started that Tres and the Thompsons were very good players. I can't help it if they simply keep proving the point.

It wasn't bad information. It was good info badly misinterpreted. They will understand. just playing. Hey how bout that half? Beavs held colorotten to 23 points! Did not make it past a few minutes. 11 pm on the east coast. Highlights looked good. Faster tempo and exploiting turnovers. I've been down on the team all year, but I'm holding out hope that we are one of the fast closing teams that gels in the second half. Can't remember us ever getting hot down the stretch, but maybe Ethan is the one that will change that. Cautiously optimistic after this one. Played like we could get close to 8-9 wins in conference.

Of course not.. always WAY more posts when OSU loses.. just watch for it True more posts after loses, but after wins there are the Polly Anna posts that tend to overlook... -it's one game... -this team and some players have a history of being really streaky... -big win, at home where 8 of the 9 wins have come vs NC RPI (202)/ SOS (288)... -favored, vs a decent team with decent NC RPI/SOS... but 0-3 oon the road... So, as of now the type of play was totally unexpected and warrants congrats! But, we're still the 11th rated team in the Pac12 by our play, are 1-3 away from Gill, have not played two good games in a row, and still have no reliable depth developed. Good signs tonight? Yep. But, as of now we're just a cautionary tale. Looking forward to seeing if back to back good games can be played. Utah is a significant step up from the Buffs. I don’t think believing in this team to win 7-9 PAC 12 games is a Polly Anna post. There are a lot more people on this board that predicted 0-2 conference wins after one poor performance in the pre season.

Just the online poll itself which only has 60 votes shows that to be inaccurate and an exaggeration.

Is this fuzzy math? How can they go 0-18 in an eighteen game season when they've won one already? It makes perfect sense in that he was making a reference to earlier comments by other posters. On December 17 at 8:57 pcm said "this is disgusting" about a Beaver victory. That brought on the phrase... must've been a "moral loss". I could probably find the other references as well.. he's obviously poking fun at some of the Debbie downers on the board. Yes, however, HIS comments were posted AFTER the Beavs won the game.

Agreed, people can get overly optimistic after a win. On the other hand, after a loss, a fair number of people come out to say that we won't win another game, that we have no talent, that we're going to have to shut down first the basketball team and then entire athletic program unless the Big Sky will accept is into their conference, blah blah blah. And the point is, that way more people show up to be negative after a loss than show up to be positive after a win. Sure, it's one win. But turnarounds begin with one win. Maybe it's a fluke win. Who knows? No one has blown us out this year; maybe the team can get into a groove. In any event, it's certainly something to enjoy in the moment. Rather than anyone else blowing us out this year, OSU just blew Colorado out of the gym. Maybe it's something to build on. But whether it is or is not, it is definitely something we can enjoy for at least a couple of days.

I'm no Pollyanna, ha. But even those of us without the keen insight, knowledge or experience possessed by some contributors to this board can see we do have some excellent basketball players on this team. We will win some more Pac-12 games if they play to their potential.

Much of pre-season I’ve been watching the team play and thinking they’ve got more depth this year than recently, why don’t they press more and go to a tighter zone? Then all of the sudden last night they pretty much did that. It’ll be interesting to see if that’s the plan for the conference season or if last night was an aberration. A couple years ago the kids played tough defense with limited depth, and it really wore down the team towards the end of the season. I’m almost wondering if cruising through the soft part of the schedule and then locking down come conference games hoping they can maintain that through the conference season was/is a deliberate plan. They caught me off guard on the defensive play they showed last night.

The best thing about this game is that the Beavs put the hammer down after Colorado briefly took the lead late in the first half. I liked not having to sweat out a close game for once. I'm sure WT did too. Lots of positives from this game, which was a must win against a poor road team. Beat Utah and things will be really looking up.

I thought he looked A LOT drier at the end of game handshake than normal.
