by the time Riley's QBs are seniors they due just fine. Mannion excelled because he played a lot over the 4 year span. Here are some numbers of the players everyone considers great under Riley. JS gets an incomplete, since he only, actually played under Riley for one year. JS 1998 - 6 games. 44.8% comp. 1427 yards. 6 TDs. 5 Ints. The next 2, I used there Junior years, each 1st years under Riley. DA 2003 - 13 games. 51.2% comp. 4058 yards. 24 TDs. 24 Ints. 3M 2005 - 10 games. 59.4% comp. 2711 yards. 11TDs. 19 Ints. Some good and bad here for junior years. A lot of turnovers. I just believe the learning curve for Riley's QBs is steep...and takes a lot of time in his system to reflect consistent success. Go Beavs Um, it's "do" just fine and used "their" junior ... Sorry, I give you one. Two require a comment.

I was in a hurry and it was early Christmas morning. PS: Sometimes I skip whole words or abbreviate to "short hand" a post. Is that ok? Not really asking.

Maybe the lesson is -- don't be in a hurry OR take ten seconds to read what you've written. Then you won't have to get butt-hurt when someone points out the shortcomings in your analysis be they grammatical, factual, or analytical.

Back on topic, it was great to see 3M do so well in a bowl game. He got a raw deal at Oregon State and took advantage of an opportunity to excel elsewhere.

The years you listed were the FIRST seasons under Riley fo both DA and Moore. It didn’t take them r years to learn his system. I understand it was DAs and Moore's first years under Riley...I stated that. I'm just trying to compare Marcus' success under Tedford with only being under his play calling and tuteledge for about 6 months. Trying to compare similar time frames. Small correction: 3M did not have six months to learn under Tedford. 3M transferred to Fresno St. on about August 8, 2017 and started his first game against Nevada on September 30, 2017. So, in all, 3M had a little over 1 month and 3 weeks to get acclimated to Tedford and Tedford's system. 3M was 24/32, 296 yards, 2 td 1 int vs. Nevada, a stat line which I think shows 3M had learned Tedford's system pretty well by that time.

3M's final stats on the year:
Passing: 218/351 (62%), 2726 yards, 194.7 yds/game*, 7.8 yds/att, 14 tds, 5 ints
Rushing: 57 att, 302 net yds, 5.3/att, 4 tds, 21.6 yds/gm*
*=Yards per game includes the 3 games in which he came off the bench and were against Incarnate Word, Alabama, and Washington.

I am just really happy that one player with Beaver ties took lemons and made lemonade. 3M was on the "maybe we can convert him to safety because we don't think he's any better than 3rd string and we have this redshirt frosh too QB" end of the bench at OSU and I cringed when I listened to the Hawaii Bowl announcers ask "How did Oregon State let this kid get away?"
