I agree. It is getting silly. Are Ethan, Stevie and Tres perfect? No. Do they have deficiencies? Yes. But this call to bench them is just silly. Guess haters are going to hate. I don't know why these people even bother to watch the games. I wouldn't mind seeing them pulled for a minute when they make a mistake due to lack of effort, but we just don't have the bench. And that minute can turn into 3 or 4 depending on the flow of the game. And for those calling for Hollins to start, going into last nights game I think he was averaging a foul every 4.25 minutes and he "beat" that last night. I like him and think he brings some good things now and will continue to get better, but you can't have a guy starting who fouls at that rate unless he is rim protector. Perfect response - This is the best talent we have had in a long time - I just wish CWT had the nads to bench some of his protected players (last names ending with T) - As far as our bench, if we don't have guys that can give us 30 seconds we should consider recruiting Dixon Protected? I am seeing development across the board - inconsistent perhaps, but steady overall team play improvement, and that includes the starting 5.

It appears to my untrained eye that Stevie has improved his game with the absence of JaQuori... I have no reason as to why, but he seems to be a bit more settled and confident. Two events could be completely unrelated... but Stevie has been a stud the last two games.

I'm always late to the party on basketball, but I noticed in the first half there was a time when J'Ville St. made a shot, Tres was right next to the ball and could've easily inbounded it to Thompson, but he beckoned to Eubanks (who was past half court) to come back and inbound the ball. Versus a press, this would've made sense to me, but there was no press on at the time.
I couldn't tell on TV if Eubanks was annoyed, but it would annoy me even if it was my job to inbound the ball. I don't know the team dynamics and won't pretend I do, but I could see two scenarios:
1. Team leader Tres Tinkle sees his post player and primary shot blocker past half court, nowhere near a position where he could defend the hoop, and says "hey, you're supposed to be down here already, maybe you'll remember next time," or.....
2. Whiny coaches kid Tres Tinkle is mad because his guy just drained another shot on him, and takes it out on Drew because he knows he's not coming out.
There's been rumors of animosity between the team and the coaches kids because of alleged favoritism by the staff. I wonder if that comes from Drew. The announcers were kind of killing Drew during the game for kind of being selfish - pointing out that he only has five assists on the season, going for the highlight play, forcing shots.....stuff I kind of agree with them on. I don't know how many times I've seen Drew hold the ball, wait for the double team to come and then DRIBBLE TO THE CORNER. Drives me insane every time.
That being said, I do think the team is looking better and starting to gel a little bit. They're still too reliant on outside shooting to survive, but at least they're winning games they should right now.

But now that you have opened primadonna's box i'm going to be on the lookout. Yeah i know there is a Pandora's box but this is different

Yeah, there may be a bit of confirmation bias on my part.....just seeing if anyone else noticed what I saw.

Yeah, there may be a bit of confirmation bias on my part.....just seeing if anyone else noticed what I saw. This team battles chemistry issues. It is pretty much a known entity. The last win seems to have satisfied the "I see improvement" crowds in some ways, but a win over a Jacksonville St. team... in close fashion at home with many poor individual performances doesn't bode well. Glass half full, I still saw us win... despite ourselves. And really, the team we barely beat, at home, wins what? 4-6 Pac12 games? Drew is still Drew... athletic, but limited big with very up and down attitude. Stevie is as up and down as always... no D with 4 subpar games followed hope giving performances that he's figured it out. Tres is fairly un-athletic in his ability to guard mobile wings, and very one handed. Ethan... well, is far below advertised. Berger about what I expected and a nice addition. Hollins deserves/needs more minutes as does Big G and Zach. Kone' is a non-factor to this point. Improved in some areas? Yep. Enough to truly matter in Pac12 play... better than 8-10... IMHO, I don't see it. Watching this team play I never get the impression they'll ever be/ approach a well oiled, fundamentally sound machine. Just always seems to be in some state of repair.

Thanks for the insight Eeyore. Now, go re-attach your tail. Ethan is fine. Averaging over 10 pts a game. He will continue to improve. Zach doesn’t deserve more minutes until he shows more. Manuel will take his minutes, if he continues to play the way he did last game. I think the rotation that you saw the last game will be the norm going forward, other than Stacy getting some spot minutes.

Spot on - However, I believe most of these kids have Pac12 talent and the "well oiled, fundamentally sound machine" is possible with some unbiased coaching. I haven't seen any indication this is going to happen
