Seems like Currie is getting a raw deal and is in the midst of a power grab overthrown by Phillip Fulmer...
BTW, THIS IS EXACTLY why Barnes and co worked so diligently to keep all of the hiring machinations under wraps... If Currie had kept all this 90% behind closed doors he would still be AD right now...

Wow indeed - and we thought WE had a dumpster fire. Jimmy Haslam III, owner of the Cleveland Browns / currently involved in a gas rebate fraud trial, is prominently involved behind the scenes as well. Everything he touches turns into whatever is the opposite of gold. So there's that.

Everything he touches turns into whatever is the opposite of gold. So there's that. According to most Tennessee fans, Haslam is the real issue at Tennessee. If the rumors are to be believed, he wanted Schiano hired... but then fans revolted and that blew up. Currie didn't even really want Schiano. It has all been downhill from there.

Fuller is to Tennessee equals Alvarez is to Wisconsin: football CEO.

I thought Haslam was in prison now. I need to pay more attention.

Seems like every coach in the conference who has an interest in a WSU recruit will be able to undermine WSU football and the prospects of playing for Leach there now. That should help us a little bit I would think.

Fuller is to Tennessee equals Alvarez is to Wisconsin: football CEO. Uhhhh.... No, not really... Alvarez IS Wisconsin football. He never stopped working there, he went straight from coaching to AD (by HIS choice). And is the constant force and voice there... Fulmer was fired way back in 2008, and then hasn't really been associated with Tenn since... wandering in the proverbial desert and not even coaching... It wasn't until earlier this year that he became a special advisor to the President, and now is trying to start a coup that is apparently working... Like I said, thanks Tennesee for taking the most disastrous and embarrassing football team of the season award from us

I know it's Fulmer. My auto correct evidently thought it was Fuller.
