Bruce Feldman was the original source. This particular rumor seems to have legs. Leach has been having his agent sniff around. With Moos gone and looming budget cuts, he’s looking to bail. WSU have been scrambling in case this happened, rumored to promote Grinch.
But yes, we will see what happens 😀

The Tennessee AD is going to get fired. It is a train wreck. UT board is entertaining.

Why would the Cougs cut their budget at the time the Pirate has WSU well established as a Pac-12 North contender? That would be the ultimate Cougin' it.
Oh well, we get a chance to move up in a couple years if the Pullman Porters don't want to stay in the upper division of our conference.

The investment resulted in more wins but it's time to pay the fiddler and they owe more than is coming in. The impending athletic budget cuts is why Moos bolted for Nebraska.

"The Pirate" definitely met with UT's AD. I'd love to see him go to Knoxville.

It's not just athletics... it is a school wide cut. Programs will completely disappear in some cases. Not only will Grinch get the job, but no one else will take it with the budget proposed for HC and staff. WSU will slowly sink into oblivion unless big donor foots some bills.

Pullman Porters - Good one. I haven't heard that before. Is there a known reason why Paul Allen doesn't support WSU Athletics. I don't know if he graduated a Coug, but I know he's an Alum. The cost of a Life Boat on his Yacht would probably make a pretty big dent in the Cougs debt. He's deep into the Pros, why not the Cougs. Wouldn't surprise my if the Pirate left. He seems laid back but he likes to get around and see the world. Coach Ravling once said about Pullman: It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here. I like Pullman but if I made 3 mill a year, I wouldn't live there. Not Corvallis either. WSU spent a ton of money upgrading it's football facilities. At some point, after four coaches have now turned down Tennessee, you gotta wonder why anyone with a name would even consider that toxic environment.

Honestly... I would hate to see him go. I know that in the end it is probably better for us. Our competition getting weaker can only help, but it looks bad for the conference and it makes the conference weaker and less entertaining.
Plus I would rather the North stay stronger than the south for as long as possible...

ESPN says that Leach was all but hired, and then Phillip Fulmer executed a Peoples elbow from the top rung to Curries temple and now the whole situation is CF on top of dumpster fire, smh... I am guessing Leach will quietly walk away, what a mess...
