After the game I told Coach R that this ought to settle who is #1 in the Pac-12. As fine an ass whipping as I have ever witnessed, especially in the 2nd half. If they play this way in the NCAA Tourney, the sky really is the limit. Our Lady Hoopsters rocked the house tonight.

Great win, but one game, one night... a lot of ball left to play. We owe UCLA before we talk too much smack, as they put a whooping on us at their place. Every night is a battle... no let downs and this team needs take each game as a "one and done" to prep for the NCAAs. Until we go deeper than ASU or Stanford we're NOT the best team in this league.

I agree with baseba1111, this team made a huge leap in whoopin' ASU, but we still have to deal with UW and Kelsey Plum in their house. We still have to play UCLA at our house and play Furd on the road. Those are three games we could lose. If the ladies play with the tenacity they did tonight, they have a chance in all of those games. Go Beavs!

But, then again as fans we can whoop it up all we want, as we have less prep to do for the next game(s)... tix? Check! Gas in the car? Check! Away game TV time/channel? Check! Adult beverages and snacks? Check! Easy Peasy!

I forgive eugenedave for his anointment comment to Coach Rueck, based on where he lives. The entire Megalopolis of Mecca, I mean Eugene, seems to anoint everything.

The development of McWilliams and Gulich has enabled us to add some quickness to our height on defense and offense. Katie especially has helped by giving us another player other than Weise who can handle pressure bringing the ball up court against the press. With Wiese on top and Jamie and Katie on each wing we present a real problem for teams trying to concentrate on containing Ruth inside. We now have seven players with true "starter" capabilities.

Who's talking smack? (oops sorry, I hadn't read eugenedave's smackpost)
As of today we are tied with ASU for #1 in conference with a head to head W against them. That's a fact and that's nothing to sneeze at. Onward and upward.

I have a tendency to get carried away, but a lot of Beaver fans have a tendency to be overly negative. I guess we balance each other out. GO BEAVS!
