Well, week 2 presser and again the most upbeat positive head coach interview in my personal memory. This man wants the job and he's not afraid to stand up and treat every opportunity as one to share the philosophy of a Hall HC team.
A bit of a stumble when asked about being in the defensive back meetings, he started to toot the Hall Horn but pulled back and gave credit where credit is due to the position coaches.
Asked about "The Petition" he managed the question like a pro and clearly stating he has told the team he feels it is highly "likely the program will go in a different direction" then right back to the current upward trending status of the team. Well handled Coach!
I've stated before he needs an interview and serious consideration and nothing to date changes my mind. The downside, which last week I thought was huge today seems to be trending upward.
There is something to be said for the young "up and comer" who can "throw it all in" and get the energy and expectations up. The competitive fire of Coach Hall burns hot. But can he channel the energy long enough to gain and put into practice the experience that comes from a season or two of loses and program building?
Is the Athletic Department and Beaver Nation willing to accept the failures as they come until he gets up to speed with D1 Power 5 Conference Football?
Will it be a bursting on the scene freshman season, followed by the "Sophomore Slump" , the Junior Breakout, and the 4th Year Triumph?
I'd like to think so because it's the kind of success story of which "legends are made" and this Beaver fan is in need of some legendary football!
