Avatar was the test video of choice (per Barometer reporter Michael Kiever)

I love it. All of it! The score as well as the vertical banner on each side to display the lineup. Looks amazing and I can't wait for our first home game.
Thanks for sharing.

Are we going to get BA's and pitch speed finally posted?
Anybody know why Pat doesn't like that on the scoreboard?

Are we going to get BA's and pitch speed finally posted? Anybody know why Pat doesn't like that on the scoreboard? In talking with the staff, he/they thinks it is a detriment to have stats plastered on the board, does not like kids focusing on stats. It can be a real negative influence to some players' mindsets who have had a poor start and see it "advertised". Also in non-league games teams with no in-depth scouting reports, especially on subs, can be helped out in some cases. I personally see no need for BA or pitch speed. Those who really need to know have that info... Those fans who want to know have access to the info and there is no need for running updates...

I think what fans start doing is following the stats online on their phones. It's what I do at Basketball games. But I don't think there are any secrets about players and averages & tendancies. Maybe in the first couple weekends...possibly. I think each team will have a full breakdown of any player available.
And I think you are correct on PC not wanting the players to focus on stats and just have productive ABs. Move the runner, ball in the air to move the runner, go deep in the count, etc. Small ball.
Need to get a pitch speed on the game tracker though

Just going by memory and observation.... the first full year the old board was in service we had a team of very highly recruited young kids who seemed to be more concerned about B.A. and ERA then the win. It was a group that under performed for sure... and I remember hearing many radio interviews addressing the players being distracted/overly concerned about personal success instead of team success.
Having said all of that... I like seeing what a kid has done today. For the home team and the visitors. That is no secret to the coaches. But most importantly I like seeing who is coming up in the next inning and when defensive substitutions are made (more then one player at a time) it is great to have a visual of who is hitting where.
I think displaying the speed of pitches has the most concern for in game adjustments and strategy.
I love the looks of the new board and I'm excited to see how we use it.
