Colorado Stanford @cal @arizona ASU @ ucks I am going 3-3 (optimistic) Close L W L W W L (hope I'm wrong here) Before the season started, I said 4-2 on the back end (although that was to get us to six wins . . . thought 3-3 was more realistic). So today I thought our D was better and our O was only better compared to last week. I think the next two games are extreme long shots. Colorado is better than us at all phases. I didnt see Stanford's game against USC but have been extremely impressed in the games I've seen. Costello is an upgrade to Chryst. Cal is rising and I see that as a loss. Will Arizona still be playing hard? If they've quit, we have a small chance. Same story on ASU. They are probably better than UA but it is in Corvallis. I see the ducks playing very hard but not much better than last year. Overall, I'm thinking a 50-50 shot at one more win.

Win 45-42 at Colorado... new sophomore QB 11/12 for 142 1 TD and rushed 14 times for 327 (yep... THREE HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN) and 4 TDs. Unless our D scores twice and DG resembles a QB that can throw we will see 7-8 man boxes with teams daring us to beat them thru the air. Colorado can score. Zona, Cal, ASU can score... Oregon may be limping in to the CW 5-6 with a 3rd or 4th string QB at this rate. Still think well eek out one more win. But, it will have to be a game like today that we get gifts and actually take advantage.

I'll take their QB and OC any day! Not too mention we've lost 16(?) in a row on the road.

OSU fans should be dissing QB play of other teams! He's 9/14 with no picks being under pressure every drop back. I'll stand by my comment... take Bowers ove DG any day.

Cal had less than 100 yards of total offense tonight. Cal's offense isn't dangerous.

Colorado Stanford @cal @arizona ASU @ ucks I am going 3-3 (optimistic) Close L W L W W L (hope I'm wrong here) If we had a healthy Luton, I think we could possibly squeeze one or two more wins out of this. With DG, I'm not entirely sure.

With DG, I'm not entirely sure. Funny thing, DG reminds me of some wild arse pitchers I've worked with. Can look really fluid and have great command, then "poof" it's gone. They have zero idea where the ball will end up even though they stay pretty sound mechanically. DG seems to throw a great ball about 20% of the time. Other than that he is left, right, high, low, doesn't finish and spin is slow. There is no one consistent mistake, he's all over. So my guess it's more over thinking/mental than pure mechanics... which is much much tougher to fix.

(I know his completion rate is probably more like in the 40s. Dont care) So far this season DG has thrown the ball like a scaredy pants freshman instead of a well seasoned journeyman QB. He doesn't set up his feet right. He doesn't scan the field, ever. He just locks onto his target from the get go and flings it with poor mechanics and no follow through, every time that i can see. This is disappointing. He has certainly had some coaching and has had enough field time to slow the game down and at least make some reads and show some savvy out there. I realize the opposing defenses have been upper tier lately but nothing i have seen from him has been the least bit entertaining. I am convinced the beavs would get more production from Collins at QB with a scaled down offense and constant run threat. Mix in some wildcat. Couldn't be much worse.

The funny thing was, during the broadcast, the commentator kept mentioning how a "more experienced QB than Garretson" would have made that play. He made at least a couple of allusions to how DG was inexperienced. This after they already stated that Garretson had 18 starts between Utah State and Oregon State. The dude is a Senior with 18 starts. Inexperience is NOT his problem. SaveSave
