This season looks hopeless at this point. The odds favor this being a one win season...and that against lowly Portland State. There is a lack of coaching, a lack of talent evaluation, no apparent cohesive offense or defense, and as players shoulder the blame, they lose their motivation. I have not seen a team play with such a lack of enthusiasm since Pettibone's final year.
A program in its third year should show some improvement and promise. This program does neither and things seem to be getting worse. We get rid of Luke Del Rio and Marcus McMarion, while dreaming that Seth Collins or Jake Luton would be so much better. I think the coaching staff has lost the team. How will letting the coaching staff stumble on for the rest of the season be any benefit? Our best chance to start improving is to get new leadership as soon as possible. These guys could beat someone if they got fired up and tried their best as a team.

Come, come. It's not all that bad. We've shown flashes of brilliance or at least we've stood toe to toe with our opponents for half the game. Things will turn around. We're playing a lot of young players who are working hard to get up to speed. It may not pay off this year, but this experience--even the adversity--will make them stronger in the long run.
I think you are deceived about the new leadership. Heck, look how long it is taking this set of leaders to rebuild and retool the team. Bringing in new coaches means that next year is another rebuilding year. Does this mean that we shouldn't get rid of anyone? Probably not. I think there are some assistant coaches who aren't getting the job done.
But I feel confident that this young team will mature into a real competitive team. So relax. Every little thing is gonna be alright!

Every little thing is gonna be alright! So your solution.... You hire a chef to cook some eggs. He starts making an omelet, but before it is finished, you fire him and get a new chef who decides the eggs really need to be poached instead, so he gathers up the eggs (the same ones, mind you) and starts poaching them. Instead of waiting for the results, you fire him and hire a new chef who decides the eggs need to be fried, so he takes those same eggs and tries to fry them. What a mess! It's my opinion that we hired the coach to do a job, knowing that the job itself would involve a transformation of Beaver football. Transformations take time. Be professional. Give the man the support and the time to get the work done. Losing Luton was a great blow to the team. Last year cycling through three quarterbacks was also a great blow to consistency. Not only have the standard difficulties of rebuilding a weak team in a strong conference have had to be faced, but he's also had to deal with injuries to key players. We'll get there. It's just hard work moving uphill without the resources of some of the other schools.

We weren't winning games with Luton at QB either. The ingredients are fine, in my opinion. Using your breakfast analogy, it's really freaking hard to screw up cooking breakfast. A Barn Buster Breakfast Platter at Shari's will get the job done just as well as Sunday Brunch at the Country Club. I just think the chefs are either mixing the ingredients incorrectly or not preheating the oven or something.

It's just hard work moving uphill without the resources of some of the other schools. Just about the only good thing that happened last year was the change in QBs. That it took season-ending injuries to change from the worst rated QB in the NCAA to a true frosh walk-on to find our 3rd stringer was the only decent QB on the roster was the blow to our coaching staff's perceived competence. That they stuffed said decent QB back to 3rd string in the off-season removed all doubt about their competency. When your QB is the worst in the country, a blow to consistency is what you need.

That makes the analogy more in line with what we are seeing... line cook trying to impersonate a chef...

Jimbo it is obvious that GA is doing damage to the program not "building" anything. We are going the opposite direction and they are going to be losing players, recruits and fans by the boat load.
I could care less to tune into andersen he is a dead man walking in my eyes. the sooner he's gone the better for at least giving recruits some hope for the future. GA had almost no resume of being a good coach and those that argue he did something in lower conference for a season are delusional in my opinion.

We can't do anything about the coaching. That's up to the University and to the lazy-boy coaching staff on this Board. I do, however, suggest to the other posters that, if they don't like the coach, write a check and buy him out. If they are unwilling or unable to do that, support the kids.
