Anyone have a guess on when it will be posted? I click this link 2-3 every day hoping to see a list of 35 ball players...... www.osubeavers.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=30800&SPID=127157&SPSID=750176So many new faces to learn and so many options for PC this year. I did see on another baseball site that they have Morrison listed at 2b this year.... can anyone confirm that is the plan? Seems odd to move him from SS at this point in his career.... but we do need a solid 2b on defense. Go Beavs!

Good question, seems like it should be soon. Trying to remember who is gone from last year -
Hendrix, Gabe Clark, Andrew Moore to the "bigs". Soto, Mak Fox, Mildenberg no longer with the team. Bauer, Reser, Lund, Howard graduated. Cary out for the season. Correct?
Hoping we get Engelbreckt (sp?) back to form as a closer, that might give us another arm to move into the rotation. Need someone or multiple someone's to help fill the void left by Moore. Rasmussen, Eckert, Tweedt, Flemer, a healthy Jake Thompson? Hickey? One of the freshman?
Other interesting "development" will be who plays where- seems like we have a lot of infielders especially if the new guys are as good as advertised.

IIRC HCPC was going to go into the Fall ball with a trimmed roster. I think the number to get to is 35. And he was talking about only a few over that number. Maybe only 2 or 3.
I could be way off on this
And I think Casey recruits like Dee Andros. Dee would sign a bunch of Linebackers and find a place for them. Casey recruits Shortstops and moves the pieces around. Other than the 5 tool players that are going right to the pros the HS Shortstop is usually the best athlete on the team. (exceptions of course)
And I think Eliot Carey might be on the 35 man roster. Just to assure him a spot for light duty late in the year. Total speculation on my part

Re: Morrison at 2B.
A friend of mine showed me that projected lineup with Madrigal at SS and Grenier at 3B Looking at just those 3 I'd swap Madrigal to 2B and Morrison back to SS. After watching Madrigal with the Knights last summer I think he's a serious threat to Donahue's playing time. He looked very smooth at 2B and batted top of lineup. Others have speculated that Madrigal could play OF (he did some with the Knights). Grenier at 3B seems right.

Total speculation on my part The first roster posted usually has as many as 38-39 players on it. That has in the past been published in early February. Then there often is a roster that has 36 players on it shortly after the first appears. The final 35 player roster is posted about a week before the first game.

They should have a roster available at the Diamond Dinner, a week from tomorrow. A few of the guys on it will not make the 35 player team.

Total speculation on my part Looks like you were on the money Tigardbeav, found this Q&A with PC from last November: What were your overall assessments of fall ball? Was this year at all different from prior years given the roster makeup that you have? I think it was different from the fact that we didn't have a lot of bodies. We didn't come in with very many people. We came in with I think 36 right on the nose there. We didn't have any extra people, which was nice. But we didn't get very much scrimmage time. We held some pitchers out. I'm not sure we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish. We'll find that out later. We certainly got a chance to see a lot of people do a lot of things in a lot of different positions. That was nice. We got to see some things that we know we can work on and become better. We also saw some things that we liked from some young guys. Here's the entire article: www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2015/11/qa_with_oregon_state_baseball.html

The infield alone is going to be worth the price of admission. Grenier at third seems like a pretty good idea (tho' veteran Hamilton??). Grenier's arm is extremely strong...and very accurate. Watched him all summer at shortstop & his range was out of this world - going both left and right. I wonder too if Madrigal will see time in the outfield. Overall depth and versatility, will provide a real luxury for the 2016 Beavers, in the event of an injury or two. That was something that was sorely lacking last year, as evidenced by the period when Morrison was injured.

This team will go as far as pitching takes us. They just need to get outs, not K's. Our D might eventually as strong as it has ever been by the time late Spring arrives. Our bats will struggle some against upper echelon pitching 1-9, but we will have enough offense if BB's are not an issue. Pitching has promise, but we lost the prime time performers, we need the men on the mound to step into the lime light and shine. I believe if we do come around it could be a very deep/talent staff.
I could see us playing about .600 or so ball early and then finding the grove/setting the lineup/rotation as league begins... But, that's why we get to play the games.

Wow, are we young. 25 of the 35 guys are freshman/sophomore, and only one senior. I don't recall ever having only one senior, at least not in the past ten years.

Looks like Tweedt and Flemer are MIA. I thought I saw awhile back that Tweedt is out with an arm injury this year.
