It seems to me that a wide swath of the people that used to post how OSU's biggest problem under Coach Riley was settling for not being the best, for mediocrity, are the same folks that are now defending Coach Andersen's record, which has a long way to go up to get a peek at mediocrity. Bizarre.
I'm hoping for the best, but need to see dramatic improvement now.

Bizarre. I'm hoping for the best, but need to see dramatic improvement now. The hardest thing for anybody in this world to do is admit they are wrong. They will rationalize way any and all short coming, faults and flaw long and before they sit down and admit they were wrong about something. I imagine a lot of Trump voters are struggling with this now (oops, violated my own rule.) but back on point. Many people were SO sure the singular reason for any struggle at all was Riley and Riley alone. In 2008 and 2009, ANY other coach with those teams would have us in the Rose Bowl... In 2012, ANY other coach with that team would have us in the Rose Bowl (or playoffs or whatever was happening in 2012...) ANY other coach would not of lost to Washington and ANY other coach would not of pooped the bed against Texas. In short, ANY coach could win 8 games and a bowl at OSU, and we need somebody better than any ol coach... somebody NOT mediocre as it is said. Andersen is the coach that was viewed as not mediocre and would turn the corner and make 8 wins into 10 wins. 2nd place almost finishes into championship game bids. Well, they were right about him not being mediocre... that is for sure.

Most of the postive posts I see on the side of CGA are the "He's our coach and I hope he turns it around" variety. But, realistically true Beaver fans have to hang their hat on that... right? I mean at this point... how we reached 6-19, the seeming inconsistencies/ lack of direction, the media quotes, and play on the field... what positives other than those you started do we praise? I mean right now the "girl we brought to the dance is just a good dancer." Most of us were hoping for a bit more... Excuses... we're young... give him time... cupboard was bare... etc aren't positives. The fodder for criticism is not just being made up out of the blue... ok, for the most part!

This topic totally sucks. I dont see a wide swath of people defending CGA. I see alot of disappointment and dissatisfaction. You can tell a Riley nuthugger a mile away, their thread usually refer or imply either how many people hate Riley, or how many people put CGA on a pedestal. Neither of which are remotely true. 2 people hated Riley, and 1 person thinks CGA is doing great.
It's basically a microcosm of US Politics. As Eddie sang, "there ain't gonna be any middle any more"

I stick by my Beavs through thick and thin, but I will speak up if I don't think our players are not being well served by their coaches. Right now, I feel like this is the case in football. And it is going to take some significant improvement in the processes and procedures = management by chaos is not the best way to get things done.

Well you won't have to worry about it if he's getting less than six wins this year. Then we can spend another 100 threads comparing Riley to GA to <insert new coach here>. What the hell is wrong with Tedford anyhow?
