The best part was how they were going on and on about how they were going to "hit this guy" in regards to Fehmel. He is a below average SEC starter. He isn't good. Oh my gawd he is putting meatballs over the plate. yada yada yada. They couldn't accept they just got punked by a right handed Jamie Moyer clone. that offspeed stuff will kill a team that craves a fast ball they can go the yard with. Simply isn't southeastern baseball. If you aren't 6'3" and throw 92 down the center of the plate you aren't good. They have no plate discipline, can't execute a hit and run, can't bunt, don't field well, make back throwing decisions and it all showed last night Beavers style won the day, plus a grand slam to add insult. Next game there's potential swinging from your arse and throwing meat ball strikes will win the game. |

Listened to the player and coach post game presser. Honestly I don't know if the Tigers bounce back from this. Stunned, shocked, in awe. You name it, they were in disbelief on what just took place. You have a link? |

Don't think so, having played ball, it is easier to come back from a 13-1 game in the midst of a series than it is a 1-0 or 2-1 - you have to have a short memory in baseball. |

Casey said something in the post game presser about talking w/the hitters adjusting to the 2nd pitcher. I think this is the team that most represents Casey's style and attitude. 1-9 and more on the bench. This is going to be hard to replicate in the future they can: bunt hit & run run & hit get em on, get em over & get em in straight steal defend like crazy. Strong up the middle Pitching is crazy good. just enough pop to jack one every once in a while I think madrigal is the glue here. As Reggie said: The straw that stirs the drink. I think his leadership and humbleness has infected the Revenge tour. |

A few of my favorite comments were:
(after Kwan's leadoff bunt and the hit and run to move him over): "I can already tell I hate this team....."
"Perez is doing the broadcast? Get ready for an OSU love-fest."
"This west-coast baseball is terrible....let's show them what gorilla ball is all about!"
Doesn't matter the fan base, the other guys always play "the wrong way" and the announcers ALWAYS love them more.

I'd like to remind us all of what some others have said so far- LSU is not out of our way yet. They are a very good, talented team that just melted yesterday. Everything went our way and nothing went their way. But I think we all know we could play that game 10 times and probably not have that same lopsided outcome. It was sweet as moonshine  , don't get me wrong, but as my mother used to always tell me, "Pride goeth before a fall!" I don't want our team to fall victim to this! I think at this point we'd all be disappointed if our Beavs didn't bring home the trophy so let's just be humble and act like we belong here. I'm not trying to be a Clownzano, just hate for karma to bite us in the arse!! Go Beavs!! |
