Wanted to wait until game was over to post. Mulholland was money, Gretler was money. Great team effort. I was bummed when we were down, but kept watching. This team is so much fun.

How bout them beavers. Showing their true colors Blew your wad early and showed your true colors. With a name like that I'm guessing those colors are purple and piss.

Full disclosure.... When we took the lead, I went out and mowed the backyard. No joke. NOT because I KNEW the Beavs would pull it out. No....Because I couldn't stand to see them LOSE after the gutsy come back. I AM a weak vessel.... My son came out and gave me the "WE WON!" fist pump...!!! YES!! The older I get.....

I too rely on my son to give me updates on beaver games and also duck games cuz I can't stand to see them win.

Getting clutch hits like a genius and wearing fastballs with a smile. Got on board 5 times. Secret weapon.

I don't know about wearing fastballs with a smile but most certainly first base coach Peterson had a grin each time Jack hobbled down to first base.

I was busy shuttling kids to baseball and dance recitals, so I only caught snippets of the game on the radio before watching the game in its entirety on DVR this evening. Gutsy performance, great to see a couple of freshmen (Adley & Jake) come up big, and Jack Anderson keeps justifying himself being my favorite player on the team - nothing flashy, just does his freaking job every time we need him to.
My only beef with the entire game was Mike Parker making excuses for Jake Thompson after he got pulled. He speculated that not having Luke and having to throw game one instead of game 2 might've weighed heavily on Jake, which seems ridiculous given that Jake got the ball in game one of the regional and super regional already.
Some people thought the seven straight curveballs was curious, and I tend to agree, but Jake clearly did not trust his fastball today.....and the curveball call wasn't the problem on the seventh one - it was the location. The previous six were all down, that one he left up. It was a bad pitch, but again he only gave up three hits, and we all thought going into this game that it was nearly impossible to get a ball out of TD Ameritrade. I'm guessing Jake figured he'd let the guy give it s ride to the deepest part of the park for an out and move on to the next guy. Even Cary looked kind of surprised that the wall came up on him.

Two big differences tonight on the state of TD Ameritrade Park that probably belies your expectation that Thompson thought a long out would occur. One is that the wind was blowing out quite strongly rather than in per normal, and the air was conducive to long flies. KJ's hit didn't leave the park because the winds died down about the time he took his swing and so didn't have the benefit that the first inning shot for Cal State had. We'll have to see if the same conditions continue for the rest of the series. One thing with Fehmel's pitches is that they are much less likely to fly out of the park if he can hit his spots. No blazing fastball to help generate the power going out.
