Anyone remember the Silver Grill on south 2nd? I wonder when it went out of business? It was a real dive. My buddy always ordered the chili over hamburger buns "smo-o-o-o-thered" in onions. He always waved his arms in an expansive gesture while saying smothered. It must have been the influence of a day spent at Cece' the best place in Corvallis, ever.

Damn y'all are making me think about moving back to Corvallis June 27 I might too, if the original TOGO'S was still there and I could order a Bomb every night! But alas... Amen to that! The bomb was....THE BOMB. In the constant debates between old school and the present - Lebron vs. Jordan, Brady vs. Montana, The old Togos vs. the new Togos - hands down the old Togos and specifically The Bomb reign supreme!

I hate to play the what if game, but with the Beavers' history of JC arrivals ending up being later than expected... what if Montibon can't get to Corvallis until the 28th or something like that?

Jesus, this is the best thing ever. I'm really glad I saw this before June 27th....or as it will henceforth be known "Keli'i Montibon Day." I suggest we all celebrate by visiting the site of our favorite former Corvallis restaurants. I may swing by the former site of Gables or Darrell's, maybe pay my respects to the Headline Cafe and The Chippery as well.
