NFW I am ever forgiving Meggs. He can rot in hell. We were not going to win the national championship last season. We weren't going to host a regional. Last year's team was not the experience laden 2007 team full of upperclassmen. I really don't think Meggs "robbed" us of all that much. Personally, I thank him. Without his perceived snub, "NFW" this team goes 49-4 and scorched Earth on the rest of the country.

It's an INTERVIEW, not a EULOGY. If ESPN could score an interview with Hitler's ghost, they would and should go for it. Agreed. Plus Stephen A Smith would have some VERY hot takes about Hitler's ghost vs LeBron. At the end of the day, LeBron cannot pay hero ball against the Nazis! He must trust his teammates in a 7 games series against Hitler.

Marquess and Meggs could disarm a bomb at the White House and each give kidneys to refugee orphans and people on this board would not forgive them for not believing in Oregon State baseball This is an Oregon State baseball board, after all.

What's the malfunction here? Marquess getting Stanford into a national seed on the year of his retirement is objectively A GREAT STORY. If I'm the producer at ESPN, it's a no-brainer. If you take it as a slight against Casey, you're beyond being just a homer. I bet if you asked Mike Parker who he'd rather have on his radio show tomorrow, Marquess or Casey - he'd take Marquess in a heartbeat. And he'll tell you, "Casey will be back next year. Marquess won't." Marky Marq apparently has his fans. I just remember him for 2 things: 1. His persistent resistance to (and numerous votes against) conference unification and quote to Casey that "you don't know what you're in for". 2. The fit he threw in the early '00's when OSU made his team stay in Corvallis to play a Sunday game on mothers day instead of cancelling because of a Thursday rain-out. He may be a great guy to many but I don't think he's ever shown much, if any, respect to Oregon State University. So screw him. Geez, at least get your facts straight. It was Easter, not Mother's Day. And it was not in the "early '00's" (sic) either. And if I was Marquess I'd be pissed too. This coddling to Easter Sunday by Pac 12 baseball is ridiculous and OSU/Stanford most certainly should have played on that Easter Sunday. And by all accounts, as per Mike Parker, Casey and Marquess remain friends.

I see no post where anybody proclaimed him a "great guy", but come in. 41 years! Throw the dude a bone. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. Guy disrespects OSU, he's ain't sh*t in my book. Yeah, that point was pretty clear. Unfortunately for you, ESPN doesn't give a damn about what any OSU fans think either. And having watched the show, they were more than effusive praising the Beavs and their accomplishments so far this year. But carry on, it's a free country.

The game in question was part of a Thursday through Saturday series in 2006 scheduled to avoid Easter. The Saturday game was rained out.
Mark Marquess wanted to cancel the game or reschedule it for later in the season. Stanford would miss their flight home if the game was played on Easter and they had a Tuesday game back at home. Pat Casey was the one who wanted to play on Easter Sunday and since the home team has the final call, the game was played on Easter.
I was one of about 500 fans to see the Beavs 10-run rule Stanford on a beautiful Easter Sunday to cap a sweep of the Cardinal. Since Stanford missed their flight, they had to bus down to the Bay Area. To add insult to injury, the bus broke down at the California border.
BTW I'm fine with no Casey interview and I'm sure Pat is too.

So you're one of those "there's two sides to every story" people. I hope that someday they invent an internet just for people like you. Until they do, stop pissing on the hate parade. We have enemies to vilify and reputations to soil and you are costing us valuable screen pixels.
