What I have seen of him on TV during interviews and just sitting in the dugout he seems much more relaxed than in past years. I fear/dread the day he decides its time to go.

His usual pacing back and forth in front of the dugout, like a caged animal, has been very limited this season. Going 20-1 will do that to a guy. I am NOT fearful of what will happen when Casey retires. Coach Bailey is being groomed to take his place, and from what I have heard, he will make an excellent head coach. Nate will develop the pitchers, the recruiting will keep the talent coming in, and O State will continue to dominate West Coast college baseball for many years to come.

Well lets hope were discussing this after the 2027 World Series and Casey's 1500 career win as a beaver.

Well I worry about changing head coaches. Look a ASU,USC and various other powerhouse programs. They have recruiting advantages due to good weather and decades of sustained success and lots of MLB alumni.
USC has 12 championships. Only 3 coaches are responsible for them. Sam Berry 1948 (with Rod Dedeaux) the Dedeaux for 10 and Mike Gillespie in 1998. ASU has the most 30 win seasons in a row at about 54. They are a little worried about breaking the streak this year. 5 NCs none since 1981
If schools with lots of advantages can screw up a program so can we
*but I'm enjoying the run we are on now

IMHO... PB would be baseball's "Jimmy Anderson". He's no Casey!!

Two things:
(1) What knowledge do you have baseba1111 that PB would make a poor HC?
(2) Mitchy Slick is one of my favs, but the Mariners need him more than we do. They have never been to the World Series, much less won it.

They have never been to the World Series, much less won it. I and some of my former players have had plenty of interactions with him and he's a good guy. What I said he's no PC. Not by a loooong shot. Just as JA was no RM. I also don't believe in the groom the next guy, and hire from within philosophy. It's not a proven route to continued program success. If you want some carry over keep some assistant coaches as part of the new hire deal. OSU is now at a place where kids want to come play baseball. PC is a huge part of that. To keep OSU at this level you'll need someone on PC's level of intensity about every little detail, coaching up coaches, closing the recruiting process. Also Bailey is what 60 or 61? We'd need someone younger as to not have to hire again in 5-7 years.

I'll probably upset some and I apologize but Jimmy Anderson was NOT the guy to replace Ralph. I'm sure he's a great guy but he was the beginning of the end.
One caveat, I've had a few beers so liquid courage has given me the ka hone uz to say that....hiccup
