Tara wants it, don't you think? In todays press conference.
Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said whoever wins the Pac-12 Tournament should be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. "Should be a reward."

I think end of the conference season tournaments are absolutely stupid. You work your but off all year and then a tournament at the end has some signicance? It's assinine. I realize it's a money grab but still hate it in every sport that does it.

I think most other P5 baseball conferences have one.
I agree with you. Only reason conferences are doing tournaments is because of TV/Money/AKA thestuffthatmakestheworldgoround

The Pac swam against the current on this for years, and I always applauded that. It would be slightly less stupid if the NCAA didn't give every Big-5 conference team with a pulse a bid to the tourney while ignoring mid-major teams that rack up great seasons only to get upset in their conference tourneys. A conference tourney is nothing like the NCAA tournament. It's three or four games in as many days, with teams that have played each other (usually twice) already. Determining NCAA bids by the conference tourney just means that every year several deserving teams get passed by for mediocre teams that got hot/lucky for three days.

Sez here that the 'ucks are the dark duck to win it all: www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-basketball/handicapping-the-pac-12-womens-basketball-tournament/"No. 6 seed oregon is riding a three-game losing streak, but it feels as if the 'ucks are playing with house money, considering their top two players Sabrina Inoescu and Ruth Hebard were the only freshmen named to all-Pac-12 team. Inoescu was voted the freshman of the year. Pac-12 analyst Mary Murphy picked oregon (18-12), which starts three freshmen, as the underdog who can win the title. “When you’re young and you don’t know any better, you can just go out there and play loose and see what happens,” she said." (quote corrected to remove blatant use of capital letters when not talking about the beautiful Beaver state and correctly highlight the fact the 'ucks have no D). Go Beavs!

Yeah, I only saw parts of the 3rd quarter. AZ was up by 5 about half way through the 3rd, so they must have collapsed down the stretch.

"Should be a reward."Does she have enough influence at the national level? Don't think so but I would not be surprised if they get a favorable bump.

After the game OSU stays at number 4 in the rpi while stanford jumped to number 7. Both will likely be 2 seeds unless Baylor loses tomorrow
