Lol... keep in the 40's? Oops too late...
I just can't believe the regression in Stevie's game. Even his FTs are horrid. He actually can be seen from backboard cam watching ball flight not the rim. Right on cue he csnt dribble... lol
Not getting to 50 tonignt either, are we?

Things more pleasurable than watching Oregon State men's hoops:
- A papercut on the eyeball - Genital herpes - A swift kick to the groin
Any others?

I still don't understand why we don't have Jaquori running point and having Stevie come off screens as a catch and shoot guy. I feel that's more his game. Stevie's shooting percentages are down across the board this year as he's having to handle the ball more and create his shot. I'm positive his free throw woes are directly tied to the fact that he's getting too fatigued running the show. Meanwhile, Jaquori essentially moves as much as the lawn gnome in your garden on offense. Just switch them and if Jaquori gets tired, it's no big deal because he doesn't shoot anyways.
Besides, at this point the season is no longer salvageable, might as well let the kid learn on the job if we ever want him to be the guy running the show.

Pretty sure if Stevie's gassed he better learn how to get in shape because he uses no energy on D! And, in my recollection of games he's not been running the show for very much of the time. In fact today's announcers mentioned WT telling them then this was the first game he'd be the primary play maker. Hoping little brother is more of a complete player!

Well, today's announcers didn't watch film of Stevie coming off high post screens every possession vs. UCLA or Oregon then.

Wish I could be a fly on the wall at our practices. I truly wonder what Tinkle and his staff talk about. This team has no concept of motion offense and looked even worse against the zone Stanford sat in for a bit. This Stanford team is below average, and without their best player. This is my problem too. An AAU coach can figure out how to get some shots for his team, even with his best player out. I find it hard to believe that the actual strategy is to run the clock down to nothing and take an off-balance contested jumper at the buzzer. And now that everyone in the country knows that we are not going to pass on the high screen and roll, why run it incessantly? Oh, and Drew showed tonight that he can be doubled effectively and has no idea what to do with the ball, so life just got a lot tougher. The officiating is HORRIBLE, beyond a doubt, but if you don't ever actually go to the basket, you are not going to get any calls. And the Beavs need to learn that the officials are not calling anything that does not involve the hands. Stanford was pushing our guys all over the court with no calls, so why can't we figure that out? They call every single reach whether there is contact or not, so stop doing it. This may be the most frustrating season of the past 25.

Whelp based on the remaining schedule. This team is gunna finish 4-27. No chance for the Beavs to win any of the last 12 games.

Sagarin predicts 7 point loss. Vegas started at +5.5 and has moved to +5.0. Over-under 125 on points. I'll go with Stanford 78 - OSU 68 with less than 5,000 ppl in the stands. Maybe they left off the 1 in front of the 7. That sounds more realistic. Hey, I should be an oddsmaker. I said 17 and it was 16. Silver lining!

I think a shout out is necessary for our student section:
1. They went to the game and most of them stayed the whole way. (Bad basketball > Homework)
2. Without them telling the team that the shot clock was winding down - ON EVERY POSSESSION - we'd still be dribbling 28 feet away from the basket, even on Friday morning.

Good Lord we suck !! I was listening to the radio early first half and we sounded like we were playing the best we have all year. Got home in time to see go down two at halftime followed by an extremely painful to watch 2nd half.
I have a hard time understanding how we are this horrible. Stevie Thompson is a turnover machine who can't play defense. Why Eubanks would even consider putting the ball on the floor or stretching his arms out with it is beyond me cuz it's an automatic turnover.
Matdor defense all around, no resemblance of an offensive game plan, horrific dribbling skills, horrific wayward passes to no one in particular, desperate ill conceived drives to the basket hoping for a foul, it was just went on and on.
I have a hard time believing more than one or two of these guys were even stars in high school. Maybe we should stop focusing on recruiting coaches kids and try to find somebody who could actually be on a PAC12 roster at any other school cuz I'm not sure we have any.
I like Tinkle and have been a huge fan but I don't recall us every looking this pathetic under Robinson. Poorly coached with no offensive game plan and horrible decision making maybe but at least a handful of the players looked maybe they belonged on the court. We look like a small Christian college trying to compete against Kentucky but this was a mediocre Stanford team at best.
I thought the football program was in a huge hole at the end of last year but this is more like a chasm of futility. I have no clue how you would convince a quality player to come join this dumpster fire of a team. What a major disappointment after the improvement last year. I have no helpful suggestions but just needed to get this off my chest.

The thing that bothered me most about last night's game was that a refusal to even TRY to get to the basket. The female announcer pointed it out real well last night and said something along the lines of, "You're at 37 with about 3 minutes to play...attack the basket and try to make something happen...maybe it'll at least get you to the foul line..." She also said that being down 11 can feel like 20 when you've had no offense. None of that is verbatim, but it captures the gist. What do you have to lose when you have had no offense all game? Start driving. Do something!

It's a sad commentary that at THIS point in the season they still look like they have no idea what they're doing.

If you listened to Parker and Warren on the Joe Beaver show today you'd just about think the shorthanded Beavs took Duke down to the wire last night with our stifling man-to-man defense. We held Cartwright - their PG - to ZERO POINTS!!
Also - Dahlen Watch - because I need something to keep me going for the remainder of the season:
Pac 12 play: now at 70 minutes, 5 pts, 18 fouls (4 last night). My Vegas prop bet on more fouls than points in Pac-12 play is looking STRONG.
