Worst effort of the year. Maybe Savannah State was worse . . . not sure. The team looks dejected and beat.

Worst effort of the year. Maybe Savannah State was worse . . . not sure. The team looks dejected and beat. That's too bad to hear. I was hoping after the second half of the USC game and most of the UCLA game that maybe things would get better. I'm still hopeful things get a little better this year when they get Tinkle back.

Not a good sign considering we are barely into the Pac-12 season. I wonder if a lot of the players just do not want to play with the new players getting minutes. Seems to be a huge rift between the team.

Sad. We've (me included) have written off the hoops team.....but what worries me, is their lack of "give-a-s%#t." Seemingly from the top down. Going through the motions.

I'd disagree on the 'give-a-s%#t.' I thought there was effort. Our guards are getting better at defending the perimeter but were burned off the dribble a lot. I thought Eubanks played well (although five? six? shot attempts were part way down and came out) and our other bigs watched him shoot and watched him rebound. I'm hoping this game will be flushed and we will see better results.

"We don't practice hard and it carries over to the games," said sophomore forward Drew Eubanks, who had 19 points (9 of 15) and six rebounds. "Sometimes we bring it, sometimes we don't. It just depends on the day, the mood. But to be a good player, we got to bring it every day." Yay Coach Tinkle? The new AD just spit out his coffee reading those quotes. When a player throws his team and coaches under the bus, there is something serious amiss.

Sadly, I didn't watch the game (recorded it, but without much motivation to watch it). I spend too much of my time yelling at the screen.....not fun. I think Drew diagnosed the root problem - there seems to be a lack of consistent "fire in the belly". I suspect that the team collectively fed off of GPII's fire last season, and now they have to look for it within...... I don't mind the team winning or losing, but I would like to at least see a well-coached, steeped in fundamentals, team out there.
Thankfully this year I am able to scratch that "quality hoops" itch elsewhere (WBB). In the event that sounds bandwagon-ish, note I have been following WBB since Rueck arrived, and even if so, in this day and age of so much competition for our time, I don't begrudge anyone who picks and chooses, and chooses to pick a quality product over an inferior one.
Go Beavs!

The level of immaturity has not improved. Losing is tough, but mature athletes/leaders don't go down that road. At this point it won't matter, but Kone and Big G would get as many minutes as they can handle.

Something tells me Eubanks and the coaches aren't seeing eye to eye. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves after this season.

If he does end up leaving, Tinkle isn't doing his job. Cmon Wayne, get it together...as our team continues to circle the drain. My gosh...

I'm a little late to the party on this, but these kind of statements are made every time a team starts losing. Logan Ice said things pretty similar to this after OSU lost to UP in baseball last season. Nobody was questioning Casey's leadership or Logan Ice's commitment during baseball season. I think they're just frustrated they're losing....as we all are.
