Where in Eastern Oregon? We are from Hermiston and plan to go for both weekends. Our group will range from La Pine to Bend to Grant County. Just a collection Beaver (and Bend Elks) fans who enjoy leaving Winter for Spring / Summer at the ideal time.

Spent some time in John Day (Grant County). Nice town with friendly people, but not a lot to do there. Graduated in 70 and sons in 95 and 98. So do you guys rent a house and bring your wives. Tailgate?

Do most fans stay in and around Surprise or spread out all over... Scottdale, etc?? Scottsdale is nowhere near Surprise Stadium. It is 57 minutes from downtown Scottsdale to Surprise Stadium without traffic. And Spring Training tends to be the busiest time of the year citywide. (There is worse traffic in spots at other times of the year, but Spring Training tends to be more generally bad traffic.) Phoenix is the fifth-largest city in the United States. It has more than twice the number of people as Portland and takes up almost four times as much space. In fact, area-wise, Phoenix is larger than Los Angeles. I remember people wanting to stay with me for the Fiesta Bowl in years past, and I had to explain that that was about as far away as Corvallis is from Salem or Eugene. People seem to really underestimate the size of the Southwest, for some reason.

Do most fans stay in and around Surprise or spread out all over... Scottdale, etc?? we've meet beaver fans who have stayed thru out the valley. we have stayed in tempe, mesa and goodyear while watching beaver baseball. really not much out by surprise, you either stay out there and drive into the city or stay closer to phoenix and drive out for the games.

Been to football games and Scottsdale, Carefree area a lot. I never found traffic too bad earlier in the day. I just have not spent any time in Surprise, but on travels thru the area did not remember many places to stay unless you rent in Sun City(?) or near by... Since the games are a minor part of the day I'll prob do Old Town Scottsdale so drinking/eating is all walking distance...

The people that usually come down that I know typically drive down in a camper and rent a spot in Surprise. Old Town Scottsdale is nice. There are places to drink and places to eat. The Giants' Cactus League home stadium is Scottsdale Stadium right in Old Town Scottsdale. Fashion Square Mall is there, probably the nicest mall in the Valley, if that is your sort of thing. Trader Vic's used to be in the Valley Ho, but it closed more than five years ago. U.S. Egg is at the southern end of Old Town, and is a good place to eat. Where do you like to eat in Old Town, baseba1111?

We camp at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Bell Road, the main east-west route for local activities, becomes a zoo in the afternoon. There are some decent restaurants in Surprise, but get a reservation Thursday to Sunday. Markinthecouv (pure orange poster) usually has good info on which restaurants are good during a particular year. Will have to do some serious scouting for good eating spots for Ramp and the Ks. We have a big group of Beaver fans depending on the year.
We used to stand outside the mlb batting practice fields and get several balls quite easily for our grandkids and now our great grandkids. Last year it was tougher with all the Royal fans. Lol. They were everywhere. Ranger fields are not as fan friendly.

Ya have to try the PB&J Sriracha cheese burger! Tom's Thumbs BBQ... there is a bomb Italian market near... starts with an "A"... Andreoli's maybe?? But the downtown Happy Hours are always changing food/drink specials so exploring is good too.

Will make it for the last 6 games.
Parking the 5th wheel in Cave Creek. I sold this to the Mrs as a practice run for snowbirding. And like all the C.O. Beavs, I really need to thaw out!

Catch a couple of games, and then enjoy other nearby Arizona highlights in ~70 degree weather. I note that the final 2 Beav games (Feb 25/26) are on the same day as MLB spring training games. That sounds a bit messy. I guess the World Baseball Classic advanced the start of MLB spring a bit. We always hit Valley of Fire on the way home. What a great break from the Central Oregon Winter of 2017 !!
