I just deleted my first post. Lets just move on. Not worth to get a meltdown.
I ready do want coach Tinkle to stay for a long time too but needs to win a lot of games for that to happen. Just had a contract extension last Summer.
There is a lot of games to be played so hope will turn around soon.

I'm not nearly as negative as the consensus on this board. I see a team that is frustrated, but still fighting and getting closer to getting out of this funk.
Eubanks is better. He made a left handed hook last night and was an offensive force in the 2nd half.
Kone helped last night. As he gains confidence in his knee, he will help more.
Thompson is still having trouble imposing his will, (physical strength is a big issue) but he is getting closer.
Manuel and McLaughlin are still adjusting and will be quality Pac-12 players.
Tinkle will be back after in a week or two.
This team has a decent chance to win six or seven conference games. Because of our horrible rpi, it will be bad for the conference and tournament berths. The sky is not falling.

5 losses by a total of 18 points and only 1 returning starter (who played all of a year or two of b-ball before becoming a college player and is still only a true sophomore) playing healthy. All things considered it could be much much worse.
If we get Tinkle and Thompson healthy and playing with Eubanks it'll be better, at least to a degree, later this season. This team is all about the future, which looks much brighter than our current situation.

I disagree it could much, much worse. We've won a TOTAL of 3 games (I think) to no name U, not sure if that counts as we could be much worse. ag87 said we could win 6 or 7 games in the PAC12, now that is just crazy talk. We would all be thrilled at this point to win more than 4 games the rest of the season, and have a distinct possibility of going 0-fer. I hope to hell we win some, cause watching this team right now is akin to waterboarding with the slow drip drip of mental error after mental error, completely unforced turn over after turn over at a rate that is impossible to believe, and missed shot after missed shot. I expected us to not be as good as last year for a while early, but certainly competitive and winning most of the OOC games since most were considered weaker by pretty much everyone, buy alas, we are not competitive nor close to it right now!! I won't quit, but watching the same thing happen over and over is too much sometimes and I turn it off.

I liked what Manuel did. He played more minutes than I expected. Kone certainly passes the eyeball test. Although his 5' jumper that went 8' questions his range! I'm more concerned w/defense. Way too many drives into the lane. Offensive rebounds on the weak side

Great point about the frustrating D. They simply offer no resistance too often

No team rebounding, no team defense. Seems like we have matadors on top and no inside help. Plus, specifically watched the defense on their 3 shooter last night. He was moving around a lot, of course, but there was no communication and switching. Why do you have tall players with long arms ..,,, ? The overall effort is not good, But I did see better passing on offense I did see Kone continuing to develop Eubanks looked lost for awhile, but the started to assert Himself in the second half I cannot stand to see Stacy with the ball in his hands, he brings zero value Manuel is developing. Grigoric( sp) is an offensive liability Here is the starting five Drew Jaquori Stevie Manuel Kone Don't know if we will see our other big again !

Without seeing it, I'm not too worried about his jumper being off right now. I don't know how much practice doing a jump shot he's had in the last year, someone mentioned he still seemed to be favoring a leg a game or two back, it might take a bit to get his legs and shot timing together.

I can assure you that I don't suck. Can't speak for you, however.

I don't know how much practice doing a jump shot he's had in the last year, someone mentioned he still seemed to be favoring a leg a game or two back, it might take a bit to get his legs and shot timing together. IMO Kone will be a very good player for us. Right now, the way he moves and isn't jumping it is clear he is being very easy on his injured leg - which is good. Even with that, to me he showed he has a very nice shooting touch, although he simply hasn't played enough to know whether he is a consistently good shooter ... but at least his stroke looks good. His moves around the basket looks like he has nice court awareness. So for me anyway, he can't get that leg of his 100% fast enough. We won't be any good(even with Tres) unless we get Drew some help underneath. Our backup bigs are just too inexperienced and undertalented to really make any difference, and Drew is prone to taking plays off and still bad fundamentals. Tons of potential - but so far not much improvement over last year, and one could argue he's actually gone backwards. IMO with a healthy Kone and Tres and a little time, this team's fortunes do a 180. Of course then there's our PG problem ... Tres was basically taking care of the PG duties before he was hurt. We have no leader out there now, and that is killing us. Jaquori needs to improve fast in his leadership role or we likely won't win a game until we get TT back. But the long term future? We are going to be fine. And in a year or two, I think we'll be great.
