I honestly believe we win 7 or 8 games. Don't know how anyone could not be excited about the direction CGA has this program going. Were there some bumps and bruises to get this far? Absolutely. Will there be more? Absolutely. But OS is heading in the right direction, and doing so quickly. This is a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids, with some junior and seniors sprinkled in, playing tough, disciplined, hardnosed football, and getting better every week. Can you imagine the confidence these kids are going to have going into this offseason? They are going to work their asses off, and that's going to be the expectation for every new class that comes in. And there were some fired up big time recruits buying in tonight. I'm as fired up right now about Beaver Football as I was after beating USC, and beating USC, and James going round the end in OT, and big balls Mike running Bernard up the gut to win the Sun Bowl. OS is going bowling next year. OS is competing for the Pac 12 North in 2018. I think I might even buy some gear with that goofy beaver thing on it Go Motherf%#*ing BEAVERS!

Yeah this team caught fire late in the season. If we had minor do-overs with Wazzu and UCLA those are wins and this team goes bowling. Not too far off Helluva Comeback!

Maybe we'd have another win or two if 3M had been the starter from day 1?

If Oregon State could call "do overs" on their entire history of football, they shouldn't.

Teams we beat this season: Idaho State 2-9 California 5-7 (3-6 PAC-12) Arizona 3-9 (1-8 PAC-12) Oregon 4-8 (2-7 PAC-12)
Combined record: 14-33
We played better at the end of the season. We learned from our mistakes (for example not trying to pass in a monsoon yesterday like we did vs. Utah). But we beat some pretty bad teams. I'd expect Arizona and Cal to be better next year, and potentially Oregon as well pending whatever they do with their coaching staff. We have to keep getting better as well to keep pace.

We're making progress - even if it's baby steps. Last year we beat a couple of very weak teams and got our asses handed to us by anyone who was half-way decent. This year we beat a couple of very weak teams and only got our asses handed to us by the really good teams. If Colorado can go from 1-8 in conference to 8-1 in one year, I suppose anything's possible for next season.

IF: 3M is day one QB Ryan Nall stays healthy Sean Harlow as healthy from day one Villamin wasn't AWOL most of the season Then, maybe we beat Minnesota, and we are at 5, maybe we beat UCLA and maybe we sneak out that WSU game.

Obviously...starting from here implies all those things. Utah is awful right now. Think we also get a much better effort against Boise State and match up well with Stanford. Maybe 7 wins is pressing it, but OS is playing good football. People want to downplay the Oregon win but that team still has a ton of talent on it. Our D stepped up big time, and did anyone see what AZ's offense did to ASU?

The most winnable game that we didn't get was the Utah one - had Nall been healthy, we win that game. His one run went for 35+. We were down 5 and had 1st and goal in the 4th when DG broke his ankle.
Watching their game versus Colorado yesterday, it amazes me that after all this time, Whittingham still cannot field much of an offense.

Still giving up too many points, and too much rushing up the gut, but lots of improvement to be seen.

My biggest fear about Andersen is that we'll be saying the same thing in 5 years. He is Whittingham's BFF, after all...
Andersen struck gold with inheriting a freshman Ryan Nall on his roster, and I fully expect him to ride that horse as long as he can (and I am truly looking forward to the results of that!). It will be a lot of fun, no doubt. But a game-changing player like that can cover up a lot of offensive coaching deficiencies, and I am still not convinced that this staff doesn't have their fair share. I fully expect an Andersen love fest over the next 2 years (and I will probably join in), but once Ryan uses up his eligibility I will be watching carefully at what our offensive production looks like.
GO BEAVS!

Nall is without a doubt a superb player, a generational star. But IMO OS beats UO with or without Nall. OS could have been pounding Ortiz and he would have grinded out those 4, 5, 7 yard caries. Pierce was doing it too. In fact, I'd argue the opposite, OS beat UO because CGA and staff had a superb game plan, used McM with the read option perfectly, and the Oline play was outstanding. Point being, your post reads as if Nall is the reason OS won its games this year. It's not. He certainly plays a big part, but I think OS wins each of those games with another RB that is less Nall-esque. Stanford moved on after Gerhart and will after McCaffrey, USC moved on after Bush, etc. OS moved on after Quizz. Enjoy him while he is here, he is pure joy to watch and we are absolutely lucky to get to call him a Beav. Next year he is going to get real national pub, and I imagine by 2017 if he sticks around will get Heisman talk if OSU is winning and Nall chooses to stick around. Bottom line, RB is probably the easiest position to replace a superstar in the game of football. The sky won't fall when Nall moves on.

We won four games people. That's a pretty low sky to fall from.

We won four games people. That's a pretty low sky to fall from. 100% increase in wins. That may be low but it is headed in the right direction. Another 100% increase in 2017 and we have 8 wins. It is doable.
