Gonna get worse before it gets better. Maybe a winnable game against Arizona St. tomorrow, then they travel to play Illinois on 11/22 and after that they can look forward to getting destroyed by UConn on 11/25 in The Bahamas. Who came up with this schedule? Won't play their second home game until 12/3, which will be their first at home against a D1 team. Weird. Precisely. Its as if coach was interested in protesting his slaughter of his best team ever. So to show his dis pleasure this schedule somes up how pissed off this has been to his dreams. this is of course a hypothetical but when I saw this team on paper and that schedule. I thought you have to be kidding me. The scheduler had very mean intentions in my opinion!

It’s got to hurt. Road game, bonding time, classes online and back at campus, mid-terms, papers, and then the other team scores 73, your team scores 38. That hurts. Some of these athletes have never experienced a game like this in their entire life. Lesson learned, games like this happen in division I women’s basketball. All you can do is play your collective hearts, things improve, they will. They will get better. Know this. You are appreciated by Beaver Nation.
Very rough Beaver Nation day today.

Well it was a balmy mid 50's day in Minneapolis today so can't blame cold weather for our frigid shooting performance...checking the stats we were 4-22 from 3 and 14-50 overall and as mentioned above we only scored 2 pts in Q4...I'm guessing that is a new record for futility for the 4th Q. for OS ever. I do know that Minnesota has a very good coach and I suspect she emphasizes defense as most good coaches do so that probably had something to do our poor shooting and futility. All they can do is flush this performance and come out tomorrow and show that they really aren't as bad as today's score suggests.

I think the game tomorrow will be an important one for this team.

I think the game tomorrow will be an important one for this team. I just checked ASU's roster for this year and this game will be another tough one for our team. ASU has the 6'7" Oregon transfer Kennedy Basham at post and also has one of the best point guards in the nation in Tyi Skinner. Skinner was hurt last year and didn't play but 2 yrs ago she was the 2nd leading scorer in the Pac-12 at 19 ppg, and she posted games of 22 and 27 against OS that year including 4-5 from 3 in the 27 pt performance at Gill against us. She is lightning fast and quick and I doubt we have anyone that can keep up with her.

Regarding the schedule, I wonder how much of it was drawn up before the great defection. I simply don't know. Wasn't part of the promise after the Pac 12 broke up a commitment to a national non-conference schedule to keep the program nationally prominent--sort of like UConn does every year with its wimpy conference? I really doubt that the tournament in the Bahamas was scheduled after March.
We would be salivating at the UConn game with last year's players. But it wasn't enough for the players, so the players left anyway and this year's team is left with the schedule.
I'm just guessing. Those of you with more inside info might know the answer.

Yes certainly some of the schedule was made in advance, prior to the mass exodus. It's just the lack of home games to begin the season seems really odd, regardless of the make up of the team.

Essentially none of the schedule was made up before the disbandonement. Which is why there are so few home games. Teams were very reluctant to play OSU at OSU as an unknown. But folks are always looking to fill their home schedule.
