If you have forgotten, the 2015-2016 season ended in a Tournament invite, so a 4-0 start would portend great things. If Oregon State beats Fullerton by 13+ points, it will be the first time that Oregon State beats the first four opponents by 13+ points since 1963, Slats Gill's final year. Oregon State went 25-3 in the regular season and punched a ticket to the Tournament. Oregon State played nonconference games against Wazzu and Washington and a home game against British Columbia. The Beavs won by 14, 17, 40, and 31. If Oregon State beats Fullerton by 15+ points, it will be the first time that Oregon State beats the first four opponents by 15+ points since 1946. In 1946, Oregon State kicked of the season by playing the Portland General Grocers, two games against Bruno Studio (which I understand was a photography company) in Vancouver, and Willamette. Oregon state won by 44, 35, 53, and 37 points. Oregon State was not seriously tested until a road trip to play Portland in game 10. The Beavs only won by 20. Oregon State would go on to win the Pacific Coast Conference North for the first time in six years, going 13-3 and beating the South Champs, UCLA by 17 points twice to punch the Beavs' first-ever Tournament in Kansas City, the ninth ever Tournament. It was Oregon State's first Pacific Coast Conference Championship since 1933. (The Beavs had won the Pacific Coast Conference North in 1935, 1940, and 1942 but lost the Championship Series to USC 2-1, USC 2-0, and Stanford 2-1, respectively.) Oregon State lost to eventual runner-up Oklahoma by two in the opener but rebounded to beat Wyoming by 17 points to finish third in the West Regional (only two Regionals in 1947). By point differential, the Beavs are off to their best start in 24 years and are a well-played game away from the best start in 78 years. Oregon State has played Cal State Fullerton three times previously. The first time, interestingly enough, was the first game in 2000. The 2000-01 Beavs continue to hold the record for the best four-game start to a season in the past 60 years. Oregon State beat Fullerton in Corvallis 68-35 in 2000. The second matchup was the lone game in 2005 NIT run. Fullerton beat Oregon State 85-83 in Corvallis. The most-recent matchup was the first game in the 2015 Far West Classic in Portland. Oregon State beat Fullerton 82-69 in the Moda Center. The Beavs would go to the Tournament exactly three months later. So, two of the three seasons that Oregon State played Fullerton are two of the three seasons that Oregon State played in the postseason. And the third is the season with the best four-game start in the last 60 years. My original post misspelled Lithuania. That was misspelled on the osubeavers.com website, and I copied the error without catching it. That should be fixed by someone. 94 points is the most points since the Beavs scored 114 in 2020 against Northwest University. That was the second game of the 2020-21 season. Oregon State went to the Elite Eight at season's end.

Warrior of the People. leh-luh-vich-us should be how his surname is pronounced in American English (at least roughly). A true Lithuanian would probably chuckle at that pronunciation, though. But close enough for government work.
