Is Ndong redshirting or no longer on the team? I was expecting him to get in tonight.

Anyone else at the game? Have you noticed the stats keep flipping back and forth between two different sets of numbers? They did it the first game also. It’s annoying, fix it. 😄 Yeah, first time I saw it was almost at the half and it said we were outrebounding them 4-0... what the...?

Lots of passing, less one v one. I got so sick of the Pope 1v1 show last year. Minor does so many little things for the team that a guy like Pope was never built to do. Tink finally has a true floor general. Wish he had more time left in his clock!

Took my son (6) to his first game tonight. It was a good one.
Great team basketball on offense and solid effort on defense. Weber State has a few starters (or at least rotation players) back from a 20 win team. The Beavers made them look like a bad team. I can’t remember the last time I witnessed that.
I’m not putting on my orange colored glasses and calling this an NCAA tournament team yet, but I can tell you that they are an enjoyable to watch and I do believe they will be competitive (winning conference record) in the WCC.
There were a lot of empty seats tonight. It was great because we could move to center court in the upper section with literally no one around us. I hope that changes soon though. I’m sure if they keep winning, it will start to fill up.
Already looking forward to the next game. Go Beavs!

Have watched both games and have officially taken my first tiny sip of the kool-aid.
Guys boxing out, effort on D. Forced 3 shot clock violations. Fallah with the poor man’s Olajuwon dream shake. Love it. Think Lelevicious is going to be a great add once he settles in. Rataj stepping up and being assertive…
Was a little worried when Weber St went zone given our cold start from outside but we carved it up pretty quickly and they went back to man after about 3 possessions.
Keeping expectations on the season low but excited for the next game!

Funniest moment of the game was when Lelevicious slid down under the basket after being fouled on driving layup... he got up and one of his teammates made him get back down so the the rest of the players could help him up! It was actually heartwarming ☺️

It was actually heartwarming ☺️ I loved that. Ernie Kent said on the TV broadcast that it's a sign of a team that has bought in and plays for one another. Was cool to see.

Tinkle was screaming "pick up your teammate", and it was Fallah who pushed Lelevicious back down so they could get another shot at it.
The team chemistry has been inspiring in lots of ways so far.

It is such a little thing, but he’s right. In the past few years, Illinois seems to have one or more players virtually running to a teammate when he hits the ground. Great to see that team unity with the Beavs. Those little things matter.

I have not seen either game (though if Beavs keep this up I might have to spring for ESPN+), so these comments are based solely on box scores and some clips I’ve seen. For the latter, have to congratulate Oregon State Hoops Twitter account on upping its game. I’ve always thought it was lacking, but it has been posting more in-game highlights and had a nice highlight package for the Weber State game. And I loved seeing the locker room video of team celebrating what I assume was WT’s 300th career win.
So things I noticed —
Loved seeing Minor’s stat line. Though he had a terrible shooting night (didn’t like seeing that), he had 6 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal and a block. Seemingly no hanging his head over his shooting, just look for other ways to help team win.
Rataj seems to be taking a step forward and playing assertive basketball. I’m not sure Lake will ever be a star, but he just helps the team win and seemingly does everything right. Not sure if people saw it, but on Twitter was an interview with Minor at I think media day where he said something like “the success I have this year will be because of Lake pushing him in practice and how Lake plays.” Shows great leadership by Minor and says a lot about Lake.
Only “negatives” were that though Beavs shot something like 38% from 3, that was because of two guys — Kingz and Lake. I think rest of team shot 15%. I also would have liked to see WT give more PT to the other bigs. Farrah has played great and I realize the rotation is probably tight because these guys haven’t played together much, but because of foul trouble or, hate to say it, an injury there are going to be times we need the depth. Get them more time in games like these
Happy to see all the positive comments on the team. It’s early and Beavs haven’t played against much talent, but sounds like team is doing it right.
Go Beavs!

One things I want to say about 3 point shooting is that 38% as a team is good however it comes together. I understand what you’re saying, but also want to add that from watching them shoot, Lelevicius, Minor and Sy are all competent outside shooters. They just need to keep shooting and good things will happen.
From watching, it seems that this team has more shooters than we’ve had recently. Also less stiffs/projects than we seem to usually have.

Get them more time in games like these Good news is that OSU's next game is vs Western Oregon. More than likely OSU should win big so maybe some of the players who haven't played yet may get some time.
