Smith's team gets steamrolled at the Big House, then starts a post-game brawl. Stay classy, MSU.

Steamrolled? Lost by 7.
Wasn't much of a brawl.

WSU struggling at San Diego State, trailing 26-21 early in 4th Just saw that. We shut them out. Sports are interesting. I think Wazzu came back. I think that's what I saw anyway. Visions getting blurry.

San Diego State holds. Wazzu will punt. Bogus roughing call bails out Wazzu. Cougs win 29-26. Wazzu is 7-1 for the first time since 2018.

Steamrolled? Lost by 7. Wasn't much of a brawl. Michigan led almost the entire game. It had a two-score lead for much of the second half, first at 16-7 and then at 24-10. If you actually watched it, you never, ever had a feeling MSU was going to win. Maybe not a much of a brawl as their last one, which was also started by MSU. But an unnecessary brawl nonetheless.

Yeah... definitions vary. But the game wasn't in the bag until late.
MSU dominated almost every stat for the game... yards, TOP, plays, etc.
But, of course a couple key "milk maid" coaching decisions made a huge difference. Like the ridiculous on-side kick that completely flipped the field when UM's offense was sporadic at best.
With Oregon, tOSU, Indiana, NWU left that 5th win might have saved UM's bowl eligibility?!

I think it's been years since Nebraska has been anything worthy of extra mention, yet some people/media still seem to think of them as some fabled program. Note that I am not saying Michigan should be relegated to also-ran. Just that at some point they and other Pac-12 programs (USC?) could tumble mightily for years and they'll still be considered great programs worthy of an extra 10 minutes on sports programs every year.

Is it ALL about a program’s athletic budget, NIL expenditures, etc? Is that IT? It has always been a factor, sans NIL, but is it NOW the deciding factor? EDIT: apparently it isn’t an important factor as far as UN is concerned….. www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/01/29/university-of-nebraska-cornhuskers-athletic-revenue
