Looking forward to seeing the Beavs take the mat in a few short weeks!
Anyone have any predictions for the evening? Who is wrestling who? Etc, etc, etc.
I'm assuming Noah Tolentino will be wrestling Ayden Garver for that 149lb slot. I am definitely excited about this match.

125 Renteria vs Taylor?. Everything I have seen online has Gage Singleton and Hunter Taylor using their RS this year. Renteria should beat either. My question at this point is who our other 125 will be in case of injury. Website lists Wisenhunt as a 125/133.
133 Wisenhunt vs DeBlaere, Elliott or Bell. This position in the line up is confusing. Unsure what the pecking order is behind Wisenhunt. Regardless of his opponent, I see Wisenhunt winning this weight.
141 Singleton vs Gillett or Robbins. Unsure who the opponent will be, but see Singleton taking this spot.
149 Tolentino vs Garver. Website lists Stiles as a 149/157. Will be interesting where he slots in. If Tolentino is healthy and back at 100%, I see him taking the match. But would not be surprised to see Garver win either.
157 Stiles vs Hamblin or Menke. Stiles has a good resume and makes me think he could take the spot. Really like the energy Menke brings to the line up tho. I think we see Stiles take the spot.
165 Olguin vs Fouret or Hamblin. Olguin should win if healthy and ready. Hamblin listed as 165 vis OSU website, not sure what weight he will go at.
174 Harman vs Reiniche or Grambrall. Harman should win.
184 Christiansen vs Stephens or McDonnell. 184 is the most confusing to who will wrestle for it. Beavs website has Christiansen listed as a 165, but he wrestled I believe 197 last year. Unsure if McDonnell will go 184 or 197. Excited to see who is wrestling in that match up. If it is Christiansen, I think he wins.
197 Munoz vs Halsted or McDonnell, saw online it list Rademacher as a RS for this season so he is not an option. Also saw they had Munoz up to 197. Munoz wins
HVY Attao vs Hastriter or maybe Mower takes Hastriters spot, but I assume Aden Attao will win this spot
This years line up will look quite a bit different than last years. I think there will be improvements this year at 125, 157 and 174. 184 will be hard to predict. 197 becomes an even greater strength with Munoz there. HVY has potential to be better. I thought Boone did well, just think Attao has a higher ceiling.

Great rundown, thank you. I am looking forward to seeing many of the new faces on the mat: Stiles, Harman, Taylor, etc. There are a few of the weights that are going to be interesting battles. 149-174 look fun. In my head I had Harman going 184, not sure why I thought that.

In my head I had Harman going 184, not sure why I thought that. Go Beavs! Harman- you could be right, everything I’m seeing online points to 174. Watched his matches, explosive with strong pace. Stiles- did a deep dive on YouTube. His growth year over year is clear. HS to Nebraska there were huge jumps. Should play a BIG role for a long time, assuming he stays all the way thru. Taylor is a DAWG. Once Maximo is gone, our future at 125 is super bright. A name to keep in mind is Robbins. Might not be this year, but I think he will secure a starting spot someday. Watched more of him last night and I think he is going to be awesome for us. Pretty fun matchup between him and future Beav Koy Davidson. Unsure how Fouret pencils in this year to the line up. Feels like he could start, just happens to be in the toughest spot in the line up to break thru. 157-197. Not sure he could get up to 184 because with Munoz at 197 this year, I worry about who we put out there. In an unrelated note, check out his YouTube and Instagram. He has begun posting really cool videos about the team and life at OSU. Provides an interesting insight to team chemistry and dynamics. |

I think 184 intrigues me the most; it's the most unknown and I want to see who takes the spot; after that I'm looking to see who of the presumed starters may have jumped a level

No commentary other than catching the PA announcer, but it's something. However, nothing on team twitter site which isn't a good sign... Have not seen a line up yet. It may be that there are some prelim matches that still need to be decided to determine who wrestles tonight. |
