If true does that meet the requirement for 8? Or do we still need 1 more for football to be 'legit'?

Great news, basketball may become a significant conference income generator.

Yup it's an interesting mix. If Baseball maintains quality we now have some pretty solid punching bags to farm wins on. Hopefully that frees us up to chase tournaments and quality RPI elevating match ups.

Sac St……. I know some folks don’t like the idea, but SAC ST is (seemingly) committed to building their football program. The Sacramento metro area damn near mirrors Portland’s, 2.4-2.5 million souls. I would rather see the Cal Bears somehow escape the friggin’ acc, and join us. ‘furd can come along too, but their elitists probably can’t stomach the idea of crawling back to the PAC.

I would rather see the Cal Bears somehow escape the friggin’ acc, and join us. ‘furd can come along too, but their elitists probably can’t stomach the idea of crawling back to the PAC. Sac State isn't eligible for post season play for 2 years, so they don't get the Pac to the 8 team requirement for football until 2027, or maybe even 2028. However, long-term, I think it behooves the Pac 12 to take Sac State once the Pac does get to 8 teams, or 9, or 10, just for the simple fact it's a big media market in and near a major recruiting market that is crazy easy to get too for all current Pac 12 teams. If what Sac State is proposing with the $50M NIL commitment, they would immediately jump ahead of 4 or 5 MWC teams in terms of investment in program, cut the MWC off at the knees.

Great news, basketball may become a significant conference income generator. 6 of 8 teams made NCAA tourney in 2024, 2 of which played for NC the past 4 years. If Grand Canyon joins that is 7 of 9. Uconn, come on down!

Hey Oram, can you write another article how the Pac 12 has now leveled up on the MWC, with their shiny new adds of UTEP and Tex State, and AAC?
