Mock the loser, give the winner no credit. Be completely inconsistent, claim the refs gave the game to the winner and that the losers are a bunch of crybabies.
In other words, use message board best practices.

Honestly? We should root for Mich St.
If Oregon trounces them it’s expected, and won’t hurt CJS that much.
If MSU wins it will really knock the Ducks down a peg.

I hope not because we have a home game on Saturday too. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. duck game is Friday Sorry, all those years Duck fans laughed at Boise State fans telling them that "big-time" programs didn't play on Friday I didn't think UO would have a Friday game because they epitomize the big time. Thought the game was Saturday, like 11 of our 12 games. Come to find out they have another Friday game. Weather is still supposed to be beautiful. |

Big Duck fan this week. Would love to see a 56-0 or similar score. I’m like a scorned lover at this point. Chiles, Velling, and Miller all have massive injuries. f%#* those guys. f%#* ‘em. Who SHOULD we root for? It depends. If you are bullish on this season, gun to my head, you SHOULD root for Oregon. If you are bearish on this season, gun to my head, you SHOULD root for Michigan State. You should generally root for the team that makes you look better. And a crushing Oregon win over Michigan State (6+ touchdowns) would make that 35-point loss look a lot better. That said, if you think that Oregon State is not going to go 10-2 or 11-1 or so. If you are bearish on Oregon State, you probably want Oregon to lose this and then three or four more hereafter with the hopes that the team implodes, the Ducks clear house, and Oregon State winds up in a better bowl against a better opponent. In the end, I am not going to waste my time on actually watching the game, because I profoundly dislike Oregon, and the head guy at Michigan State has not given me a great reason to root for his new team. |
