Sadly, the Beavers were not able to fully realize my 10-0 dream from last year.
However, they did put together a really nice season.
They won 8 of those 10 games, with 2 losses by FGs on the road...
While the 2023 schedule had the potential, the 2024 schedule provides this beautiful Dream:
---
Thursday Nov 28, 2024.
Thanksgiving.
The Beavers stand 10-1... #16 in the polls.
A potential exclamation point on deck... [if the Beavers can manage a win tomorrow on the Smurf Turf]
#16 Oregon St Beavers(10-1) @ #10 Boise St Broncos(10-1)
Each team' only loss being to the Oregon Ducks...
.
The lovable gritty hard-working story of the year.
Forgotten about.. Abandoned.. Discarded.
The Beavers refuse to die.
---
The 10-1 Start:
Idaho St (3:30PM Saturday Aug 31): The CW Network.
@san Diego State (7:30PM Saturday Sept 7): CBSSN.
Oregon (12:30PM Saturday Sept 14): FOX.
Purdue (5:30PM Saturday Sept 21): The CW Network.
Colorado St (3:30PM Saturday Oct 5): The CW Network.
@nevada (4:30PM Satuday Oct 12): CBSSN.
UNLV (TBD Saturday Oct 19): The CW Network.
@cal Bears (TBD Saturday Oct 26): .
San Jose St (TBD Saturday Nov 9): The CW Network.
@air Force (12:30PM Satuday Nov 16): CBSSN.
Washington St (3:30PM Saturday Nov 23); The CW Network.
---
Last year, the Beavers didn't quite realize the 10-0 dream.
They went 8-2, with 2 FG losses on the road: to Washington St(L38-35) and Arizona(L27-24)...
This year, the schedule is just as inviting...
---
The Beavers are not eligible for the automatic qualifying spot for the 'Group of 5 Conference' spot...
But, the day after Thanksgiving, on the Smurf Turf, the 10-1 Beavers will knock Boise St out of their guaranteed spot.
---
With the coming week 1 Dakota Embarrassment to the Big12...
And then the coming death of the ACC...
The Re-Birth of the PAC remains a possibility.
---
11-1.
A record season.
A Season to Remember.

The 10-1 Start:
Idaho St (3:30PM Saturday Aug 31): The CW Network.
- Idaho St is a bad Big Sky team... A team that went 3-8 in the Big Sky last year.
- Beavers roll.... avg 7+ yards/play... fans enjoy the easy win at home.
- Beavers 45-10
@san Diego State (7:30PM Saturday Sept 7): CBSSN.
- The MW had record turnover at the head coach spot (7 of the 12 teams)... San Diego St is one of 3 MW teams that the Beavs will play this year with a new head coach.
- As illustrated last year, road games suck... but, Beavers win their 5th straight vs the Aztecs.
- San Diego State have RB Marquez Cooper, who has next-level aspirations... but this game will star Beavs RB Anthony Hankerson... Extended run, after extended run.... Domination at the line of scrimmage.
- Beavers 31-23
Oregon (12:30PM Saturday Sept 14): FOX.
- I know the game is in Corvallis, but this is the Ducks year... The Ducks are built for an extended 2025 NCAA Playoff run... they have a decent shot to win it all...
- Honestly, can you imagine if the Beavs win this home game, and we are looking at a potential 12-0 undefeated season? Not happening, but...
- Ducks 42-24
Purdue (5:30PM Saturday Sept 21): The CW Network.
- Purdue is a Power5 Conference team (though only went 4-8 last year) and a bounce back win is required.
- With the new sound system this summer, to go along with the 'new stadium/lights.... the crowd is going to be key.
- A win here would help along the "rebirth of the PAC" narrative...
- Beavers 24-23
Colorado St (3:30PM Saturday Oct 5): The CW Network.
- Both Beavers RBs eat once again... but this will be a Jam Griffin game.
- Will Colorado St already have an upset over a power5 team: either #4 Texas or PrimeTime Colorado?
- While the Rams are a dark horse favorite to take that next step this year.. I'm not buying yet... I still think they are a ~500 MW team...
- Beavers 27-17
@nevada (4:30PM Satuday Oct 12): CBSSN.
- Beavers lost 37-35 last time they played at Mackay Stadium, on a missed Beavers FG
- Road games are always tough... but at the end of the day, this Nevada team is a team that went 2-10 last season, and has a new first year head coach.
- Beavers 24-20
UNLV (TBD Saturday Oct 19): The CW Network.
- Another tough home game. UNLV is one of the top 3 teams in the Mountain West. They were 9-2 last year, before their defensive collapse.
- Go-Go-Go... offensive explosion... could Beavers and UNLV combine to run for 400 yards?
- UNLV WR Ricky White could be a problem for the secondary as well...
- Beavers 42-31
@cal Bears (TBD Saturday Oct 26): .
- Road games are never easy. Especially road games against Power 5 Conference teams. That said, it is Cal :-)
- Could Jermaine Terry be a legit NFL tight end?
- Beavers 24-10
San Jose St (TBD Saturday Nov 9): The CW Network.
- Beavers won 42-17 on the road @san Jose St last year. San Jose have lost their dual threat QB Chevan Cordeiro, and are not what they were...
- San Jose St is now led by first year head coach Ken Niumatalolo, who was 109-83 as head coach of Navy (was UCLA TE coach in 2023 gap year)
- Former San Jose St head coach Brent Brennan will lead his new school, Arizona, to a Playoff spot in the Big12
- Beavers 31-13
@air Force (12:30PM Satuday Nov 16): CBSSN.
- Troy Calhorn is returning for his 18th season as head coach for Air Force. The consistency that he has created at Air Force is impressive.
- Air Force is always a good team. Never a great team. On the Road... this is a concern game.
- Beavers 28-24
Washington St (3:30PM Saturday Nov 23); The CW Network.
- Last year' game @washington St ruined my10-0 prediction last year...
- No Cam Ward; no longer a problem.
- Beavers been winning with a basic strategy: Run it down your throats, control the clock/possession, minimize turnovers, and bend but don't break on defense... same thing today.
- Beavers 35-17
