What are her qualifications as a collegiate coach and/or recruiter? I want to like this hire, but don't see how hiring someone based on the school name on their diploma will help the program stay anywhere near the level they have been at. The same as Aleah Goodman's, who had never spent one minute as an on-court coach or off-campus recruiter when she was hired. Good enough for me. And she was a far better player than Aleah. 3x Pac-12 champion.

I always liked Syd Wiese's upbeat personality. Recruiting should be a natural strength along with coaching the guards. She'll be a great addition to the coaching staff.

Aleah may have stayed for her final year of eligibility under those conditions.

Really encouraged to hear that Syd is on the payroll and recruiting for the program at this very moment...
Bottom life: Rueck has got to land some players and he's got to land them ASAP. And by players, I mean Players. Very good Players. Right now he is working with the weakest roster that I have seen since 2014 (when I began following OSU WBB).
Hopefully, Syd will be able to connect with some premiere players and help Rueck bring them to OSU..... GO BEAVS!!

What 5th year senior? Please be specific? Was not referring to anyone specifically. It would have worked for Aleah, and for TVO. And I'm sure in the future we will have a player who has already graduated who has eligibility, and perhaps is interested in going into coaching.

Someone is either a coach or they’re a player, not both. Aleah attempted to land with a WNBA team and was close. After that, she decided to go into coaching. Once she decided to pursue a professional career, there was no going back to college basketball as a player. I don’t see NIL having any influence on that sequence of events.

I see Eric Ely, look again.
It is not the Pac-12 or Power 5, etc. but the experience level of this group is a big change from most years, I'm not worried though.
