I honestly wish I could give a s%#t, regarding the uniforms. I wouldn't feel so lonely.....;-). I just can't IMAGINE caring. They'll be playing on the gridiron....NOT on the Paris runway. Amirihgt? Yes. I am. Same. As long as they are some arrangement of orange, black, and white, I really don't care. And it's hard for me to fathom why people do care.

Jerseys look great. Not a fan of the Buster Brown pants, I prefer traditional football bottoms that cover the knees. But times change. It's even more annoying when you see baseball players wearing pants like that. Do you play for the 1976 White Sox?

Refreshing to have a team that limits its uniform colors to its school colors. I would love for Oregon State to incorporate more colors. You could incorporate red, white, and blue for Labor Day. It would be nice to incorporate different colors, because Idaho State's official colors are Roarange and Bengal Black. (Also, how much better are Idaho State's colors than Oregon State's colors? Roarorange and Bengal Black? Are you freaking kidding me? That is awesome.) Anything to try and hide how much more awesome Idaho State's colors are than Oregon State's would be welcome. You could do yellow, green, blue, and white for Brazilian Independence Day against San Diego State. Black and orange should always be worn for the Civil War. If you were going to go with a color, red for Mexican Independence Day or red and blue for September 11th. Alternatively, you could move September 11th forward for San Diego State or Mexican Independence Day back to Purdue. You could go with red, white, and blue against Purdue for Constitution Week. Or you could go with something autumnal for the Autumnal Equinox the next day. You could add cobalt blue for the end of Oktoberfest against Colorado State. Or you could incorporate Alice in Wonderland colors for Mad Hatter Day the next day. Oregon State should wear pink on the 12th for Breast Cancer Awareness Day the next day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It might be better to make the Breast Cancer Awareness game the weekend before in Corvallis, though. You could incorporate red and yellow for Columbus Day against Colorado State, instead. Orange and black are natural Halloween colors and should be worn against UNLV. That said, you could always plus orange and black with green and purple, other natural Halloween colors. Alternatively, pink could be incorporated for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Orange and black are natural Halloween colors and should be worn against Cal. You could plus orange and black with green and purple, other natural Halloween colors. Alternatively, pink could be incorporated for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Red could be added against San Jose State for Eleven09; the Marine Corps' Birthday, the next day; or Veteran's Day, the day after that. Normally, blue should be incorporated for Diabetes Day around November 14th, but the opponent is Air Force. Orange and black. Oregon State should wear orange and black against Wazzu. If you wanted to incorporate other colors, you could incorporate autumnal colors for Thanksgiving. Oregon State should wear orange and black against Boise. If you wanted to incorporate another color, you could incorporate yellow for Barbados Independence Day or autumnal colors for Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately it does matter to the guys IN the uniform. BLING RING Do you think a majority of the guys actually care? Yes, I think the players care, as they should. The hype involved with the uniform release is aimed at those young eyes—the players and the future players. It’s a part of the game now. I don’t like it myself, but I am not the target audience. To me there’s something classy about wearing the same uniforms year after year. It’s an identity that says we don’t need the hype. This is who we are.

I think we can do both. We've had black over black over black for home games as our primary identity since Riley took over in 1997. The look can be tweaked this way or that, or for improvement. The new look isn't that much different than what Smith had but I would argue that it's better. If the players want to mix and match from game to game(because that's what certain cool schools do) we can accomodate that by showing 4 different color schemes for hype, although I would keep actual implementation to a minimum for reasons you state.

Good point about “not being the target audience.” I’m clearly not. 😊

Would like to see the Beaver's wear a throwback uniform like the home Jersey that Terry Baker wore his Heisman winning year. I know I am probably out of touch on the uniform front but I just liked the simplicity of Orange helmet with all black uniforms with Orange numbers.

Aren't we due for another 'rebrand'? Or maybe the ugly 10 did that for us?

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to share that. You are most welcome. I am generally very disappointed by our branding. And our uniforms are a large disappointing part of it. We have such cool things to draw from, too, like the Beaver plaid that Oregon State trademarked. I was just in PDX and looking at the Beaver merch compared to the Duck merch, and the whole thing made me sad. A fun fact is that Oregon State has 17 official secondary colors but almost never uses them. Oregon State's goalpast tartans were once trending, and now you can't find anything with the tartan anywhere.
