It's easy to nibble at the edges for strikes when you are getting the calls. UK was getting a LOT of close calls in both games, but especially last night. Yeah, our hitters were frustrated, but I don't think it was just because we couldn't square up the few mistakes they made. Blue was giving their guys a bunch of high strikes/on the edges, and then would just stand there when our pitchers threw to the same spots.
I don't know what the future holds for scheduling, but I am about right flippin tired of watching us get screwed over by the RPI year after year, and having to travel across the country to get hosed in some park in the SEC or Texas when we should be playing at home. This is one sport that I'm ok with the Pac12 going away, because the conference was getting shafted every year by the RPI. Almost nothing could be worse than the way we were getting treated by that "metric".

If Omaha had it their way...they would divide the SEC and ACC up into a bracket of 32 teams and that my folks will be the "College World Series." Got a good start this year with all 8 teams from the SEC and ACC.

Got a good start this year with all 8 teams from the SEC and ACC. I do not think that it is "Omaha." I do not think that it is ESPN either. I think that RPI has been gamed. I think that trying to add KPI is stupid but the idea behind that decision's heart is in the right place. I was upset last night but have calmed down. Oregon State losing 10 conference games and dropping one to Stanford in the Pac-12 Tournament was all of the excuse that was needed to under-seed the Beavs. There was a poster on here that posited that it might be better for Cal to beat Arizona, because it would guarantee a Corvallis Regional, which seemed baked in regardless of whether Oregon State won or lost against USC. And I didn't say it, but I wanted to say that, that the Beavs could greatly increase their chances of winning a Super Regional by winning two more.

If you disagree with it "just means more" in the SEC that's fine. But then what accounts for the crowds, top notch facilities, large athletic budgets, big NIL budgets, etc...It appears to be at every school, every sport. OSU baseball does have a very attached fan base who care deeply about the team, players, and program. If there was room for 2k more fans last weekend they would have shown up. Our baseball facilities have been steadily invested in including as we speak. There are a couple age old factors we have no control over and which helps answer your question on budgets. Time zone is one, the other is obviously the tv money disparity between us / "P12" and the SEC which in part is due to the time zone. They also understand how to stand together and demand what they want without stabbing each other in the back at the negotiating table.
