Why would we bring in a former player that has no collegiate experience. At least Aleah had experience recruiting and seeing how Duke practiced from a coaching perspective. She did have off the court interactions with players. What do Mik or Syd bring other than name and familiarity with the system. Scott needs to bring in two coaches one that coach the wings and guards. And another coach who can be the defensive coach similar to what Jonas did at a very high level. Maybe a coach that has experience in the WCC or maybe a DII or DIII head coach that has a great fit. I have to disagree sportsfan85. After watching and listening to Mik and Syd during their careers here at OS I could fill up the rest of this page with all the things Mik or Syd could bring to this program other than name and familiarity with the system. And if you have to ask me what those things are then I would venture to say that you did not see them very much during their time here. IMHO either Mik or Syd would be a great coach for the wings and guards, and either one but especially Mik would be a great defensive coach, and I think both would be dynamite recruiters. If either one or both of them are interested in the positions available I would hire them in a heartbeat! I disagree with your assessment of my humble opinion it appears that if I don’t agree with you I’ve never seen Syd or Mik play because I exercise a different mindset, but I ask you to find one interview where either player wanted to coach. Unlike Aleah who after being cut by the Connecticut Sun she went right into coaching at Duke as their recruiting coordinator I believe. What we need is an individual who has a connection with Scott and is currently coaching to keep the program going forward. We need a coach who has built a schedule or prepared practices and has experience recruiting that would take a lot of pressure off of our head coach and assistant coach Hunter. Whoever our coach hires I’m sure there will plenty of fans who will question the hire especially on the site.

Bye, bye, Miss OSU pie, Drove my Chevy to the levee when I saw it's Women's basketball die And those selfish young gals almost made me cry, As they were singing, "This'll be the day we all lie, this will be the day we all lie"

OK I will ask. Is there a deeper problem than aligning with the wcc? 8 players and 2 assistants. Young single women leaving a small town for a proper sized city may be an important variable on this particular departure.

Young single women leaving a small town for a proper sized city may be an important variable on this particular departure. You (or, perhaps you might say, they) would seem to be leaving out the ratio of young single men, of better than average intelligence and job prospects, per square mile in the small town to the corresponding number in the proper sized city. You, and they, might also want to factor in crime statistics per square mile.
