According to Nick Daschel, out of the 11 football players that transferred out of Oregon State in the Spring, only 3 of them have managed to find new schools. These three are Damien Martinez (Miami), John Miller (Utah State), and Quincy Wright (Sam Houston State). USU, SHSU are all tiers below OSU. Miami seems to be almost on par with OSU especially with their spectacular fall from grace in the past 25 years, in my opinion. Grass ain't greener.

That's the dark side of the transfer portal. There is still a glut of players that have extra eligibility clogging up rosters which means there is more players than roster spots. If you aren't a high/mid talent then you might find yourself done with football.

IMO, Miller looked really good in the spring game. I guess he was told or thought that he wouldn't get the shot he wanted.

Of the 11 transfers how many were encouraged to enter the portal (processed) by the coaching staff in order to get under the scholarship limit of 85? This is a pretty common practice in most programs now.

Pogo? How old are you again, Wilky? Pogo is the origination of the phrase that NativeBeav wrote. Pogo was before my time. Pogo's phrase is a riff on Commodore Oliver Perry's terse battle report of the September 10, 1813, Battle of Lake Erie to Major General William Henry Harrison, “We have met the enemy and they are ours.” The Battle of Lake Erie is also before my time. But Commodore Perry and William Henry Harrison are great American heroes, so I know the original phrase and the Pogo one as well.

Thank you for cleaning up my "quote" !

I was just joking because Pogo is a pretty old comic. Just think if the Battle of Lake Erie wasn't before your time, though. You could have been an eyewitness to quite a bit of history

I always wondered how much Walt Kelly influenced Bill Watterson.

I always wondered how much Walt Kelly influenced Bill Watterson. Bill Watterson said that his two biggest inspirations were Peanuts and Pogo.
