Glad we won't have to deal with these dumbass conference tourneys being independent. You still have to win final weekend. The only option next year is to play three games against the one team with a bye in the Big West. UC San Diego this year. Beat Arizona State tomorrow! Arizona State in Scottsdale tomorrow is much better than playing an UC San Diego-type team next year, absolutely no offense to UC San Diego. My big prediction is that we will miss the Pac-12 Tournament in 2025.

This team lacks discipline. Trosky should be taking at any pitch with a 3-1 count. At least I assume the coaching would have told him to take. If not then it's on the coaching. Disagree. Doesn't need to be taking, but needs to have an approach that leads to success. With Trosky's hitting ability, swinging at that pitch was a no-win situation, so don't swing at it. Know your approach and attack what's there with the 3-1 account and dont' chase anything else, even if a strike... I agree with you. Trosky had a miserable game. Two strikeouts, even though the second one was not a strikeout; a groundball to the pitcher; and the flyout to end the game. I think that the umpire's meandering zone got into everyone's head today. Oregon State has to flush it and prepare for Arizona State tomorrow.

Any fastball down and over inside-middle and that is it. Unless you see that it is your pitch, you lay off. His run is much less important than getting the tying run to second with Bazzana on deck.

Can we quit griping about the ump. Let me know if I'm wrong but I believe he was behind the plate for both teams. Stanford didn't have a big problem hitting.

You can survive Trosky having an off night. Guerra has been a giant hole in Oregon State's lineup for more than a month. It is tough for the Beavs to survive a complete lack of production at first.

For some reason, the ump saw fit to strikeout 10 Beavs hitters and only four Cardinal hitters. Plus, Oregon State's game is working counts. If you Street up the strike zone, you make the game dumb baseball. That was dumb baseball. Awful to watch. Talt grounds out, because that one ball that was up and in was called a strike before Trosky. No, I will continue to piss and moan about a one-sided hack behind the plate.

Was it the umps fault when we couldn't hit against cal and usc?

I didnt get to watch, but my instinct is to say you can't bitch about the ump. Good teams adjust......Street was bad though. I have a hard time believing this guy was street bad

I have a hard time believing this guy was street bad I do not remember him calling strikes balls, like Greg Street, but the outside corner appeared and disappeared in a very Streetesque kind of way. It was probably like between 2018 Sylvester and 2017 Street. Just kills an offense, who likes to work the count.

Wow. What a miserable game. At least we know which Beaver team showed up to play. April Beavs.
We have no consistency. When things are good, we do well, but when our back is against the wall, we hope the next guy will get it done.

Like that has nothing to do with the pitchers or the hitters' approaches? Please. We had plenty of good pitches to swing at. You sound like a whiny uck football fan.

Was it the umps fault when we couldn't hit against cal and usc? The ump was just fine. It's a given in this board of the Beavers lose and/or don't hit its the umpire. What is OSU's K rate? How many did they have today? Nope... not the umpire.

Was it the umps fault when we couldn't hit against cal and usc? We averaged six runs a game at Cal (8,7,3). We hit just fine.

Yeah... so an umpire "saw fit to strikeout" hitters?? OK... I get that on called 3rds. So, OSU had (2) in (10) of their Ks... Stanford (2) in (4) of their Ks. So,, I guess the umpire forced OSU hitters to swing and miss (8) times at strike 3. Effing ump and his power of persuasion!
