Ok State getting a higher seed than us is laughable. They were a joke when we played them. "Laughable" as it was a preseason NC, single game? Or... - they tied for 2nd in the 3rd rated conference, while OSU placed 2nd in the 6th rated? - they've played 31 vs OSU's 20 Q1/Q2 games? - they're 17-14 vs Q1/Q2 teams, OSU 10-10? - they're SOS is 32, OSU's 74? - they have only 22 of 54 (40.7%) games vs Q3/Q4 teams. While OSU has 36 of 56 (64.3%)? - that they've steadily improved their RPI 32 spots from week 6 (49 to 17). While OSU has dropped 10 spots (6 to 16) in the same span? Seeding teams is based on a season of outcomes, not a random single game. OSU created their schedule and their W/L record. OSU has given the committee plenty of ammo to seed them anywhere #10-16.

I agree with your analysis of RPI, but ultimately we should talk about things that are more real than RPI. Massey has Oregon State 10 and Oklahoma State 16. I like Massey, because Massey uses more data than RPI and arrives at a more accurate ranking as a result. Oklahoma State is not as good as Oregon State, but I agree with what I think your point is. And that is that the Cowboys are not a joke. Both OSUs should be regional hosts, but the Beavs should wind up ranked higher than the Cowboys. At some point, the games have to matter. If Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma for the Big 12 Championship?.......Maybe. But that has not happened yet.
