Have to love the Guerra comments when he has 7 less Ks in 5 less ABs than Turley. Lower BA, but strikes out less than Turley and Krieg (who has 11 more on 50+ less ABs!) I'll take Turley over Guerra against Pac 12 pitching any day of the week. They both strikeout too much, but one guy at least homers once in awhile. Was that the point of my post? Nah... didn't think so. A ton of negative posts about one guy who's no worse than a few others. OSU has "1" hitter with 40+ conference ABs hitting over .300... Baz at .356. In 21 conference games a team with 203 Ks, with (4) players with 24+ Ks hitting .211, .233, .237, .247.

We are painful to watch. I hate to be negative but there is no excuse to hit two people, walk another and give up a hit on an 0-2 pitch down the middle after having two out and nobody on. You just can't do that. Yeah, not sure how facing 7 in the B9 is nutting up? All the trouble he got out of was his own creation. And, three of those last foul balls were just missed! Huge moment. Absolutely could not lose that game. Things weren’t going his way, and he nutted up and got the save. It wasn’t his best outing, but he finished it. Those are performances that will win games in the postseason.

At least When we struck out tonight we went down swinging that's a start. It would be a good idea if we started swinging at strike one as well.

And then Mully recovered to get Jordan Westburg to hit that ground ball to pull one out of the fire. That 27th out can be damn near impossible sometimes. Great on Holmes to make a mess and then clean it up.

Yeah, Cadyn almost caused that game to go completely sideways, but he nutted up as well. Madrigal was hurt and booted one before the ninth. Kwan was hobbling around in center. Tough game all the way around. 5-0 lead almost blown. Cringy to watch after that 5-0 lead. Some bright spots but not many.

In the past 2 weeks Guerra has been so bad that it really stands out though. Beginning March 25, Guerra is 2 for 25 and stuck out 10 times. Turley tops him in BA during that period (.225 vs. .080) and HR (one vs. zero), but also in strikeouts (14 Turley / 10 Guerra). Worst of all, in the 8 games beginning 4/20, they each have one (1) RBI. Turley is still 2nd in the PAC 12 in RBI.

We are facing better pitching. Our run production, batting avg's, and OBP is going down. Might be time to give some other guys like Peterson some AB's

I will check tonight, but it sure looked like he was in for some down time after his recent injury.

I'd throw nothing to Turley even close to the middle of the plate, outside, outside, and he CANNOT hit the outside pitch, period. Guerra,? can't seem to get on any pitch right now, in any location. Try some new guys, I'd bet there are bench warmers that can at least touch the ball on a regular basis.

Try some new guys, I'd bet there are bench warmers that can at least touch the ball on a regular basis. I think a better answer to Turleys hitting woes is his inability to hit the fastball this year. I want to say a 3rd of his home runs at least have been off of either a hung slider or curveball. Pretty obvious he’s changed his approach to sitting on off speed pitches in certain counts. As of late he’s guessing wrong and he’s been getting more fastballs since the Cal series. Guerra a mixture of struggling and getting himself in holes. Not easy when you’re struggling and getting two straight sliders on the black for strikes and in a 0-2 hole. He’s really struggling with anything on the outer half of the plate right now.
