But props to him for going out and getting some players. Guys that look like they have some potential and upside.
Credit where credit is due.

Of all of our coaches (WBB, MBB, Football at the least) dealing with conference realignment and conference portal defections, WT seems to have adapted best - a statement I actually never thought I would be making....
Go Beavers!

He might be in the best position to benefit. OSU basketball has been pretty disadvantaged to being competitive in conference; that's not the case anymore.

Go Beavers! Well... to be honest he's HAD to use & depend on it far more. But, he's also not found great success with portal guys, or in keeping them! Hopefully some will stay put.

Yeah I'm a big "believe it when I see it" when it comes to actual Tinkle results (since all of the coach's sons have disappeared). But hopefully he gets another difference maker and things FINALLY turn around.

Go Beavers! Maybe because he has LOW EXPECTATIONS to begin with… Defense mechanism.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the guys Tinkle has brought in thus far. That said, job isn’t complete. On paper, I’d put the current roster as a second division WCC team. If he can pull in another big plus a relatively proven scorer at wing/SG, then we might have something if he can get team to mesh.
One thing these first four signings show is that the idea that no one with any talent or potential will come to Oregon State is false. In the new college landscape, there is a path for success for Beavers. Not so sure WT is the guy to navigate it, but he at least has things moving in appropriate direction. And if he doesn’t arrive at the destination, I’m pretty certain the notion that no talented coach will come here is also false.

They're JAGs until not, why does he deserve credit for fillig a roster at a major D1 university? How about he earns some credit for winning basketball games?

You speak for all fans now? He has 2 tourney appearances in 10 years, with 3 wins. He has 1 winning conference record in 10 years. His average conference finish is 8.8(we'd need to do the maffs on every other program to know if 8.8 is 10th or 7th or whatever but that's his ranking itself). The fewest losses a Beav team has had under coach Tinkle is 13. His conference winning % is 33.5. The last 3 years it is 18.3. But hey we're trending up, right? 3-28 11-21 13-19! At this rate we'll host an NIT game in 3 years. He's overseen some of the most historically bad losses in our program's history. He lost to Portland State twice in one season by a combined 25 points. He lost to Tulsa(twice), Samford, UC Davis, Portland(twice), Wyoming(twice), Kent State(twice), Long Beach State(TWICE), LAMAR, Charlotte, Savannah State. QUINNIPIAC. Wtf is Quinnipiac? If Korculabeav doesn't speak for you then you're a part of the problem.

I posted that because in my opinion he has exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Like I said, no longer a Coach Tinkle fan. Many coaches would do the same thing and be called on the carpet for underwhelming pick ups. I see it the other way, hence the props from Spudbeaver. I still think we can do much better, but for now, this is what it is.
