FWIW: In their latest Mock Draft yesterday, Rawlings Perfect Game has him going #1 to Cleveland. They say there is a lot of buzz over him in the Guardian organization - they are excited. MIF is a weak spot in their organization.
Baseball America has him going #2 to the Reds behind Charlie Condon.
Kurtz is on fire and Wetherholt is back playing. If Bazz holds his ground into mid May, he could well be another One-One from the Beaver program.
Will the Guardians draft to need or best player available? With TB, they get both
Go Bazz . . . Go Beavs.

Adley was mind boggling. He's a large catcher that can hit for average or power, switch hit, ++arm, great defense behind the plate and one of the best framers I've ever seen. They had to add more rings to his tool belt for all the stuff he carries around. Which is my standard for a number 1 pick. Bazz isn't as polished, so I think he'll go top 5, but not 1. But you guys are more knowledgeable about these things. Drafts are boring, like MLB. Adley was definitely more polished, but I also look at when Madrigal went 1-4 as a 2nd baseman (now converted to 3B) and in most metrics Bazanna is a much more exciting prospect than Nick was. Nick was a better defender and at putting the ball in play, but Baz has better power/speed while also hitting for average too. No disrespect to Madrigal, but if he can go 4th overall (in a weaker draft to be fair) Travis could easily go 1-1. Baz also played center field in the Cape Cod league so while he's listed at 2B he could play some outfield if needed as well.

He's doing some amazing stuff and each year he has gotten better each year that he's played with us.
Comparing Madrigal and Bazzana, I would suggest, clearly differentiates a Pat Casey team from a Mitch Canham team. Madrigal was a small ball guy with superb defensive skills. Bazzana is versatile at the plate, but loves the power. He isn't as good of a defender as Madrigal was and he doesn't come close to Madrigal's leadership and in-game management ability. But the boy can hit the hell out of a baseball.
I think it really comes down to which team is picking first and what their needs are.

After tonight's game my son and his buddy wanted to get autographs. Bazz was signing a ball for my son. The pen we gave him kind of sucked, and Bazz wasn't happy with the sig, so he got another pen from someone, and says "I'm gonna fix this for you."
He is a very impressive young man. Very gracious.
