Well...root for Indiana big time. South Carolina is exactly the kind of team that Rueck's teams have had trouble with in the Tourney over the years. I'm not sure that's a knock on Rueck. Everybody has trouble with long, athletic, Uber-skilled, deep teams That said, I'm not sure there's another team in the tournament that has a better chance against SC than OSU. Not that I think we have a great shot if we do play them, but I don't think anybody else does either. Maybe USC given their ability to match length and athleticism with SC, but the aren't nearly as well coached. They got handled easily by Louisville twice in the post season. The Cards were good but not great teams. South Carolina got them handily I think during Boston's freshman season. I get to be the best you have to beat the best, but I just don't like the match up at all. And this is a different South Carolina team. Knock on them has usually been shooting, but they are about 50% overall and 40% from 3. And they have tons of depth, unlike Notre Dame.
We'll see. It's beyond thrilling to get to this point. Next round will be whatever it is.

Just a weird coincidence that opposition phenoms keep having a bad games against us.
Hunter was the best freshman on the court today, just as she was against USC. Media might notice eventually.

I’ll say this. ND is a good team but we faced tougher opponents multiple times in our conference schedule.

I spent a lot of time complaining about the refs during this game. I guess all I have to say is IMO the crew was wildly inconsistent and I'll leave it at that. I didn't think the refs were egregious. There was a bit there near the end of the 3rd that had me wondering. Really, the only reason it was close was because the Beavs couldn't stop coughing up the ball. I'm really hoping this is just a nerves thing, because no matter how good your D is, everything will unravel if you're giving up 20+ TOs a game. Yeah...my biggest issues were I felt that Timea got overtly hammered multiple times while grabbing defensive rebounds and that led to her losing the ball a few times. I thought the focus on traveling was laughable in a game like this. There were at least a couple of strange non-calls/out of bounds calls by one specific official. Beers took a fair amount of uncalled contact at times but at least they weren't hitting her with a bunch of whistles. Aside from some of the inside stuff, it seemed obvious to me that Notre Dame's defensive pressure legitimately forced OSU into making most of the turnovers so no complaint there. Overall I didn't care for the job the crew did and TBH it's kind of a general thing with me that I tend to view college women's basketball officiating as below average. And OSU won, which, let's be honest, softens our viewpoint to a certain degree.

Beers threw up an airball but then kept the play alive, tipping the ball out to Lily on the 3. That was an incredibly smart play. If her feet are even on the ground when she tips it, it's a travel. It was a good play, but unless it’s changed recently, I’m pretty sure that would only be a travel in the NBA.

It was interesting to see how much Hildago. She had a 4 TO game, tieing her tights on the season (UA and Utah matched). But I thought she was more flustered by Hildago than even Sherrod - she was really slow getting the offense initiated. Hildago definitely had a significant impact on the game defensively, nobody was comfortable at all whenever she was in the vicinity (and I don't blame them). What surprised me about Hunter is that she looked pretty comfortable handling the ball around Hildago in the first quarter, but she looked increasingly uncomfortable as the game progressed. Huge confidence boost for her that she was guarded by Hildago most of the game and Hildago goes under her season average on steals.

Thank God the Beavers won. Grayman would have posted forever complaining about the refs. Every game, win or lose, never fails... officials, announcers, network!

And, there has been mention several times how much some players shuffle their feet. Not called doesn't mean it's wrong when it is. Wait until more 3 sec violations are called! So it was okay for you to complain about refs against Nebraska…but no one else can?? Got it.

Loooots of Notre Dame talk in this postgame show. And when they talk about OSU, they go into Cintroen highlights. Thanks for nothing, ESPN. If I was to give them a benefit of doubt, could it be that since they get to talk about Oregon State for a few more days they're just putting a cap on ND this season? If the Beavs lose to SC and it's all about SC after the game we'll know that theory is crap.

I really thought the TOs were gonna doom us. Found a way to do it. Bring on the Damecocks!
