At this point why pitch to him. This is something special. This is what a top 5 overall pic does!!! Wonder if we will start to see opposing teams with a lot of intentional walks for him? Or the unintentional/intentional walk?

Beavers sweep Washington rather easily.
We're now 5-1 in conference, 21-2 overall.
Last year after 2 conference series, we were 1-5 with a series loss to the Cougs and were swept by Stanford on the road.

Excellent sweep. Beavers played their best baseball since Arlington. Washington isn’t great, but Beavers just played good baseball. And so few free passes.

The free passes crowd should be satisfied with this weekend. Got tired of hearing about that. Hopefully no more threads about it lol

That was a good sweep. 31-3 for the weekend. Take that anytime.

Or the unintentional/intentional walk? If that happens, Travis will be constantly on base, causing problems with a loaded lineup behind him. For Pac 12 teams, it's going to be "pick your poison" all year long.

Wonder if we will start to see opposing teams with a lot of intentional walks for him? Or the unintentional/intentional walk? I know we have a very talented lineup. But at this point he is a man amongst boys. I think we'll see a unique impact from having Travis lead off. Normally your best hitter bats #3, and it's an easy equation whether to let #4 make you pay, after which you get to the bottom of the lineup. But with our 2-4 hitters being their own muderers row, with fellow team leaders in RBI's and slash lines, the odds are that walking Baz will just result in one of those other guys getting an extra RBI. Letting Baz crank balls out of the park may actually be opposing teams' least-painful option, considering who he has behind him. Hold on to your butts, folks, it's gonna be a fun ride...

You at the game? The noise at the lead off was unbelievable for how many seats were empty.

Time to move the Adley statue over to make room for another one for Baz

The free passes crowd should be satisfied with this weekend. Got tired of hearing about that. Hopefully no more threads about it lol When you quit walking/hitting people, there is no reason to complain about it. So yes, very satisfied with our pitching this weekend. We made them hit the ball, and we caught it. Funny how that works. If we continue to quit walking/hitting people, there still won't be any reason to complain about it. If we revert to hitting/walking people again at the rate we were, you will certainly hear about it. Talked to a number of UW parents this weekend; they are very unhappy about the move to the Big Ten. They said they would miss playing us because it is always an exciting weekend, either home or away, with lots of fans at the ballpark and people who care. They also acknowledged we are PFG.

Two biggest takeaways from today, for me, are Segura, and the defense. We made play, after play, robbing the dirty Dawgs of base hits. Segura has cemented himself in the weekend rotation.
If we can continue to play defense, and pitch, look out.
Oh, and good riddance to the Dawgs.....have fun with that travel schedule.
