So this article states that Ferreira is the second signee in this class. I guess Mehyar is not official yet?

Pretty positive statements from SR considering she played all of 79 minutes last year, and in only 15 games. OSU needs bodies so... "check". Baylor was a good team so there is that, but career #s are not promising:
325 minutes... 8.6 min/g 34.4% FG% 16.7% 3FG% 1.6 Reb/g 0.5 A/g 0.6 TO/g 1.8 pts/g
SR needs to find more help!

I see that coming into Baylor, she was "Ranked as the No. 2 JUCO player in the country by World Exposure Report." I surely can't vouch for credibility of that source - but if she was indeed a highly ranked JUCO, her lack of development at Baylor could be due to any number of factors. I trust Rueck and staff to succeed where Baylor may have failed.

(not portal) Incoming for this season but all I can find is she has committed to OSU. The signing period is over, so I guess I'm wondering when she would be able to officially sign and does her status as a foreign player affect that?

From a Gill Coliseum section 8 season ticket holders’ perspective, with military service section 8 tendencies during games. It appears Sir Scott might be going with a tad bit taller athletes this season.

Back in the day, some juco transfers used to have a huge impact, at least in men's hoops. I feel like those days are long gone. Honestly if anyone can come up with a list of former juco transfers who ended up being good players in women's D1 hoops over the last 10 or more years, I'll be impressed.

Didn't Gravy train down the road have a juco player from Lane that did not do much?

The fact that she was apparently the number 2 JC is largely irrelevant now. She wasn't good enough to play consistently for a very good Baylor team. Hopefully she is good enough to be a contributor at the WCC level. When teams recruit the portal, they probably have a ranking of the best players available and reach out to see who is interested in their program. They keep going down the list until you find players who are interested. I am guessing the OSU staff probably had to go pretty far down the list before they found players who were interested.
I don't know that much about wbb in the WCC, but considering the circumstances I would be happy with .500 record in conference next season.

I don't think finishing above .500 in the WCC is going to be a difficult goal for OSU to reach at all. I doubt that the team Rueck has/is putting together will be worse than any team in the conference except possibly (probably) Gonzaga. Not at all worried about most of the rest. Along the same lines, IMO getting that 8.6 minutes a game or whatever it was at Baylor is better than quite a few WCC players are capable of doing. The Beavers will win plenty of games.

Over and over I keep getting reminders of what a small world it is that we live in.
I was at Tiara Bolden's last regular season game at Fordham University in the Bronx on March 2 - one of a whopping 422 fans present. Her La Salle team had just gone through an awful season, but they had enough left at the end to beat a rebuilding Fordham team by ten on the road, on Fordham's Senior Day no less.
Bolden was, without a doubt, one of the two best players on the floor for either team. 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 of 8 from 3. Every time Fordham tried to mount a comeback, she or her teammate Melious would pop another 3 (Melious was an unconscious 8 for 10).
Bolden is an exciting player to watch, and I'm very excited that she is now a Beav. I'm also very happy that the Fordham Rams (my favorite eastern underdog team) don't have to deal with her anymore.
Things are really coming together. Go Beavs!
