Maybe the effect of the new travel schedule is already wearing on recruiting? I would assume it's the most obvious in the smaller less profitable sports because there's less to little money to pay for wins. If not it' should be soon. Given UP's conference opponents location and weather, if you're from WA, OR, or CA what's a better baseball scholarship offer, uo or UP?. I don't think it's even close, or duck bias, to look at the current facts and say UofP is the superior offer especially for west coast kids.

30-0 in the conference, would be a great way to finish off a Pac12 Conference destroyed by greed & stupidity. It won't happen, but I can dream.😀 29-1 Nothing but respect in dropping one to the Cougs.

No. The Cougs have caught us too many times in too many sports recently. We need to take care of business first, andthen worry about the brotherhood. No sentimentality until after the series.

If uo gets a kid a scholly and 20 to 50k in NIL, then travel just looks like adventure.

Kids won’t be so easily dissuaded, especially with cash in hand. I think the real question is the coaching staff. They are older and wiser and may not enjoy getting bounced around.

The travel is only one aspect. It's where you'll be playing once you get "there" and the conditions you'll be playing in. Compare WCC destinations and weather to B1G destination and weather in late winter/early spring. BTW, I was only comparing scholly's (apples to apples) not scholly's + unequal cash offers.

The same could be said for UCLA/USC vs the other Cali schools like Irvine who is tearing it up so far this year. We've had 2 or 3 recruiting classes since the SoCal schools announced their cut and run. I know that's not a lot of data points, but has there been any noticeable dropoff in the recruiting rankings the last couple years for those schools?

Didn't both schools get heavy raided by NIL deals? I seem to remember several UCLA pitchers going to the SEC.

This is true, but the kids won’t think about it when they sign. A year or two in, and sure. But they will probably schedule early games here in Oregon, as much as possible. The football schedule looks better than I was hoping. I’d sign with the ducks over UP. I think UO has more resources, more contacts, and more alumni who will lend a hand to a fellow Duck.

I typed 29-1, so that’s a 2-1 series win! Raise their RPI to be the only other host-worthy team west of Texas. Beat ‘em in the CWS to make it 3-1 (or better 4-1). 😁

Let's get a tough road conf series first, worry about the next series after that. We could've easily lost a couple to CSUN.

There can be several reasons for recruiting class fluctuations during a period of stable conference alignment. It would be very difficult to isolate any one factor out as the root factor for improving or declining class rankings. It's hard not to notice USC and UCLA having the worst records so far though.
